Quality Patient Safety Specialist RN

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The Quality/Patient Safety Specialist RN works collaboratively with leaders, physicians, and staff to improve processes and patient care. This may include facilitating continuous quality improvement teams/projects, assisting with implementation of improvement strategies, data design collection, measurement and analysis, meaningful communication/presentation of findings and improvement action plans to appropriate committees, entering data into databases, and medical record review.#Participates in survey preparedness and all aspects of patient safety initiatives.# Facilitates all Medical Studies Review#activities.# Coordinates the activities of the Patient Safety Committee.

QUALIFICATIONS # Professional/Educational Current IL RN license. Bachelor#s degree. At least 2 years of recent clinical, performance improvement process, or risk management or patient safety experience preferred.

Computer literacy, keyboarding ability, and a broad-based knowledge of applications including Windows, word processing, database, spreadsheet, and graphics programs. CPPS preferred or willing to obtain within a year of eligibility.
