Primarily responsible for change management in the General Internal Medicine Clinics to improve patient experiences and outcomes in our diverse academic medical setting. This position will observe processes, analyze and present data and intervention outcomes. To achieve these operational and clinical process changes, the Quality & Organizational Excellence Specialist will lead quality improvement teams, developing and coaching residents and staff.
The Quality & Organizational Excellence Specialist will work with Management, Faculty, Residents, staff and patients on many projects simultaneously. This requires that the Specialist be a self-directed individual capable of working independently with limited direct supervision to accomplish problem solving, analysis, small group facilitation, consensus building, leadership, and innovative thinking. A successful candidate must possess excellent communication, report preparation, presentation, and facilitation skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including but not limited to Excel, Powerpoint, and Visio).
Experience with project management, information system implementation, clinical quality improvement, outcomes management, and/or working knowledge of IHI's Model for Improvement or Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline.
If Associates Degree: Four (4) years of experience in quality team facilitation, project management, process improvement or quality data analysis.
