The QA/QC Manager has overall responsibility for managing the QC Lab and the quality of all materials to ensure they meet customer requirements. When quality issues are identified, the manager will initiate an investigation and coordinate the implementation of appropriate corrective action. The manager shall communicate quality issues with customers and keeps the Indiana Plant Manager and the Director of Quality apprised of significant quality issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible to manage the QA technicians performance of on-line inspections of bar soap and finished bath product inspections.
Responsible to manage the QA technicians performance of analytical testing of raw materials and finished bath products and the appropriate recording of results.
Responsible to ensure that Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) are maintained within the QC Lab.
Performs analytical testing, on-line and AQL inspections as required to ensure quality requirements are met in a timely manner.
Manages QA Specifications:
Receives and approves customer specifications and creates new specifications or revises existing specifications.
Maintains customer files for specifications.
Coordinates questions/concerns about customer specifications through sales, NPD or with the customer directly.
Develops and maintains SOPs as required to meet GMP, Customer and Bradford quality requirements. Has overall responsibility of SOPs at the plant
Manages the status of incoming raw materials, packaging components, finished goods and other key materials and ensures the timely release of materials and finished product.
Conducts investigations concerning quality issues, when required by customers due to customer rejections or as directed by the Plant Manager/Director of Quality.
Manages Corrective Action Request (CARs) involving internal rejections and customer rejects.
Ensures compliance with the Chemical Hygiene Plan and Environmental policies when handling and disposing of chemicals.
Effectively and professionally communicate with Customers, Vendors and all levels of employees and management.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by Bradford management.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biology or a technical field or 5+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Ability to obtain required information from Oracle/Visual software programs.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with production, customers and key individuals within the organization
Extensive knowledge of Customer, GMP and GLP requirements.
Capable of utilizing normal office equipment including personal computer equipment.
Normal office environment.
Frequent exposure to manufacturing/laboratory environment.
Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
