Reporting to the Regional Senior Quality Manager, leads the quality initiatives and performance of the manufacturing facility. Provide strategic leadership within the plant by prioritizing/communicating customer needs, providing feedback on plant quality performance, and facilitating teamwork to assure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and effective. Partners with the leadership team in development and implementation of long-range plans to assure the facility continues to stay a competitive provider of quality parts.

What Will You Do? In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for: Assure strong communication and partnering takes place with assembly plants to resolve daily issues and improve long term quality performance.

Provide feedback to the plant personnel prioritizing/communicating customer expectations and status of plant quality performance. Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions and communicate continuing problems to the plant. Update management staff on overall plant and supplier quality performance, effectiveness of preventative/corrective action activity, current project status, and assessments of customer needs on a regular basis.

Furnish technical support and training in latest quality techniques and philosophies to improve process control and nonconformance prevention. Form and facilitate teams to address significant or reoccurring quality issues using Root Cause Analysis techniques. Assure staff is trained and effectively executes their responsibilities.

Participate in plant training and Apprentice Program development. Upgrade the understanding and capabilities of all plant personnel in the latest philosophies and techniques to eliminate nonconformances and improve quality performances. Assure effective quality systems, personnel, and equipment resources are available, developed, and maintained.

Assure effective process controls and inspection procedures are identified and documented. Assist design and engineering group in development and prove-out verification of new processes. (e.g. manufacturable & repeatable) Track and provide quality performance feedback to external suppliers. Identify key issues and work with plant, purchasing, and supplier resources to resolve issues.

Consult with suppliers to upgrade their quality capabilities. Assure appropriate inspection equipment is obtained, available, and maintained to allow successful process verification and control. Develop and administer effective quality systems to assure issues are identified, tracked, and correction and closure are achieved.

Note: The responsibilities and tasks outlined in this document are not exhaustive and may change as determined by the needs of the company. What Do You Need? To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

A minimum of five years leading quality/lean within a manufacturing organization. Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills utilizing formal quality techniques. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, technical blueprints & standards, financial reports and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in engineering or another applicable technical major. Alternatively, a Business Administration degree accompanied by industry recognized quality certification.

Strong management, communication, and leadership skills. Demonstrated experience with usage of inspection systems & metrology. Demonstrated expertise with lean manufacturing tools & projects.
