Manage, plan, coordinate, and direct quality efforts designed to ensure a consistent quality product made to established standards to meet customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Day-to-day supervision and management of quality inspectors both in the U.S. and China.

  • Implement and administer quality policies and procedures.

  • Lead the internal Quality System Audit program for the organization and manage the Corrective Action system in conjunction with the Management Review process.

  • Ensure all quality/regulatory requirements are met including but not limited to OSHA, Prop65, TSCA, Global Harmonization and Dodd Frank.

  • Effectively manage improvements utilizing methodologies to improve quality, reduce waste, rejections, complaints, and improve customer service.

  • Supervise equipment calibration, CMM inspection and incoming/final inspection personnel function and activities both in the US facilities and abroad.

  • Promote, develop and oversee the Quality Management System to ensure compliance of ISO certification.

  • Ensure that top management undertakes periodic but regular assessments of customer satisfaction and those consequent improvements are identified and implemented.

  • Conduct internal and supplier audits; train and monitor the internal Audit Team.

  • Coordinate Registrar and customer audits and the completion of CAR's.

  • Discuss questionable dimensional and geometric tolerances with Engineers and suppliers to work out solutions.

  • Investigate customer complaints regarding quality; coordinate data/analysis of field returns; manage corrective and preventative actions relative to complaints.

  • Manage PPAP process.

  • Review product SDS as part of a new product approval; based on the SDS make recommendations as to the requirements needed on the art work to meet compliance.

  • Provide support to the Global Sourcing team relative to supplier selection, set-up quality plans and monitor supplier performance.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education/experience

  • Five to eight years' experience managing the Quality Management System of a manufacturing/distribution facility with a high level of international sourcing and manufacturing (China, India, Taiwan, Mexico)

  • Minimum of three years of direct work experience with QA systems, regulations, guidelines, ISO and associated standards

  • Heavy knowledge and experience in SDS's and GHS Compliance

  • Product regulatory compliance experience preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Proficient in the use of current PC software programs (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and successfully manage time, multiple projects, and changing priorities

  • Direct knowledge of QA methodologies.

  • Practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, and control plans.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sitting, standing and/or walking for significant periods of time (4-6 hours per day, up to 5 days per week)

  • Viewing computer screen for significant periods of time (4-6 hours per day, up to 5 days per week)

  • Dexterity to successfully operate office machines (PC, phone, fax, copier, scanner)

  • Ability to safely and efficiently maneuver around the office or plant/warehouse floor

  • Some domestic and international travel may be necessary (less than 5%)
