How You Will Make an Impact
The Quality Manager is responsible for management oversight and process effectiveness of quality assurance system. You will engage and implement policies and procedures that improve quality awareness, controls, and accountability. In addition, this position will ensure that components are being tested, repaired, and overhauled in accordance with the appropriate technical data, as well as enforce a high standard of cleanliness and functionality not only of the parts inspected, but also in the work place.
The Nuts and Bolts
Maintain the corrective/preventive action program - inclusive of tracking status of open actions, receiving and reviewing responses, work with departments for accurate completion and periodic reports and metrics
Monitor, evaluate and assign corrective actions to appropriate department heads for completion, as well as follow through and verify the solutions by auditing the efficiency of corrective actions
Report ongoing activities to management and keep the company continuous improvement efforts on track
Provide monthly reports on problem areas (Pareto, Trend, etc.) to senior management
Conduct internal process audits - all departments according to requirements and vendor audits as needed
Work with engineering and operations to improve products and process using DOE, PFMEA, SPC, 6 Sigma tools
Develop Pre-Production Approval Process (PPAP)
Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products
Plan, promote, and coordinate training activities related to product quality and reliability
Responsible for employee interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Required Credentials
Five (5) years' experience as a Quality Coordinator, Manager, or related position required
ISO 9001 experience preferred
Minimum of two (2) year degree in Quality, Statistics, Management or related field preferred
AS9100 or AS9110 quality certification preferred. Lean / 5S / 6Sigma certs are a plus
Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills
Prior experience with direct reports -here you will have up to 1 supervisor and 16 hourly TMs
