A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A QUALITY MANAGER / QA ENGINEER / AEROSPACE QUALITY CONTROL SPECIALIST

As our Quality Manager / QA Engineer / Aerospace Quality Control Specialist, you ensure the integrity of our company and products. You interview, hire, train, and oversee our Inspection and Document Control personnel.

Under your excellent leadership, they are inspired to perform at their highest level. With efficiency, you keep on top of all administrative management tasks for your department such as approving bi-weekly payroll reports.

You also train employees on how to use the non-conformance reporting systems.

You sign certifications of conformance, maintain our ISO/AS9100 registration, inspect completed DD-250s, and oversee FAI and certification packages. With attention to detail, you review non-conformance reports.

You are the point-of-contact for source inspections and oversee both internal and external audits. Always sensitive to customer needs, you resolve returns and initiate, track, and review corrective action requests. You effectively troubleshoot quality issues that arise on the shop floor.

Regularly, you review quality control procedures, instructions, and forms, creating new ones as needed. You also generate and analyze the weekly trend and monthly objectives charts.

Though your role is highly analytical, your job is also collaborative. You work with the management team to ensure company-wide compliance and conduct meetings with personnel based on trend charts. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A QUALITY MANAGER / QA ENGINEER / AEROSPACE QUALITY CONTROL SPECIALIST

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline OR equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience in the aerospace industry

  • 2+ years managing the quality control function in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with AS9100, AS9102, and third-party audits

  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance approaches and tools, including strategic planning project management

  • Working knowledge of ISO/AS9100 implementation and documentation

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Leadership skills
