Primary Function

Responsible for management of Quality Assurance at Hamburg site. Leading and developing a team of quality professionals to manage site quality team. Ensuring compliance with regulatory, industry and customer requirements. Development of quality improvement plans and delivery of quality KPI's.


Quality Control Specialist (HH)

Key Deliverables

  • Lead the implementation and development of Hamburg Quality Assurance programs for food and feed products and deliver HH Quality KPI performance (FPC, COPQ, Audit, etc.)

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, industry and customer requirements (food safety, certifications, hygiene, supplier approval programs)

  • Overall responsibility for effective laboratory operations and quality control

  • Deliver EHS departmental programs and improvement plans

  • Lead the departmental Continuous Improvement Initiatives in line with the quality strategy: laboratory CI programs, internal audits, reviews, focus areas etc.

  • Support site projects with regards to new products and processes, establish cross functional implementation plans

  • Maintain existing and support new Quality data IT solutions (SAP, procedure databank, internal audit databank etc.)

  • Responsible for delivery of HH customer experience KPI's: quality complaint turn-around times, Hamburg quality complaint rates etc., complex customer quality complaint analysis, implement corrective action plans to achieve sustainable solutions

  • Effectively organize and conduct customer audits at Hamburg site

  • Leading contact for local food and feed authorities and external partners

  • Lead and develop Hamburg quality team, conduct training, performance reviews, establish and implement development plans with direct reports, assure succession plans and talent development

  • Support quality resource plan to allocate the right level of resources/services

  • Develop and implement quality awareness activities for Hamburg site

  • Support site EHS awareness initiatives and programs to drive safety performance an awareness

Qualification, Knowledge and



  • University degree (MSc level) in food science, chemistry, lead auditor

  • Min. 8 years experience in food manufacturing operations, preferably in

a Quality Assurance or technical role with team leadership skills

  • Expert in food safety and food risk management systems, ideally with one

international assignment

  • Knowledge in microbiology, chemical/physical principles and methods

  • Significant food industry knowledge - food processing and food law

  • EU and international experience and food knowledge, internationally savvy,

  • able to work across cultural dimensions, good influencer

  • German, English, higher level, verbally and written
