Quality Manager - Food Manufacturing

Global food manufacturer is currently in search of an experienced Quality Manager to join its team within its state-of-the-art facility in Memphis, TN.

Major responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day leadership of QA supervisors and techs, including all quality and food safety functions on the plant floor
  • Responsibility for testing and analysis of finished product, including interface with onsite and third-party labs
  • Oversight of food safety and regulatory compliance to GFSI / SQF and HACCP standards
  • Ongoing development of SOPs for production lines
  • Management of internal and external audits

This position will work primarily day shift, Monday through Friday, but occasional flexibility may be needed based on the needs of the operation. This is a high profile position within the organization that will directly contribute to the overall success of the companys flagship plant.

Key requirements to be considered for this opportunity:

  • You MUST HAVE a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field
  • You MUST HAVE at least five (5) years of leadership experience in quality and food safety within a food manufacturing plant
  • You must have a proven track record of developing quality and food safety initiatives and documenting procedures
  • SQF Practitioner certification is strongly preferred - PCQI, BRC or other GSFI certification would also be considered
  • Experience with SAP or other mainstream manufacturing ERP system is strongly preferred
  • You must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer - sorry, no sponsorships

As a QA Project Manager, your job will be to: * Routinely interact with Safety, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Product Development, Distribution, Procurement, Supply Chain, IT, Facilities, Sales, Marketing and Legal as well as external stakeholders and/or auditors/investigators depending on the project.
