We are excited to partner with our client, as they have a full-time opening for a Quality Engineering Manager in Delaware, OH. This position is full-time/permanent and pays 75K (DOE) annually.
The Quality Manager will manage and control quality through the use of APQP, Lean Manufacturing, PPAP, SPC, Six Sigma tools. Will oversee attainment of ISO14001 and 9001 certifications to ensure customer requirements are exceeded, while supporting the policies and standard operation procedures.
Job Description
  • Establish and maintain communication with other team members and support departments
  • Define quality criteria with development of limit samples
  • Establish and maintain lab procedures and training
  • Oversee necessary external lab testing including calibrations
  • Create, maintain and monitor nonconforming material procedure
  • Monitor corrective actions and problem solving, root cause analysis
  • Establish and maintain work instructions
  • Preparation of PPAP with follow up
  • Inspection of all trial parts and new launches
  • Create, maintain, and monitoring of all quality related documentation
  • Track and report QPR/QPI and reflect measures in internal documents
  • Process capability evaluations, summarize and report findings, suggestions for improvements
  • Reliability evaluations, tensions, fireproof and weather chamber testing
  • Manage ISO requirements including: document control, internal audits (ISO9001, 14001, TS16949, CCAP, etc. as appropriate) and management review
  • Create and monitor rework procedure which includes training and observation
  • Shop floor management, verify implementation of check sheets, manage 5S, establish action plan
  • Prepare monthly reports including: PPM, internal defect report, performance data, other as required.
  • Interface with customers and taking responsibility for corrective action and ongoing compliance for customer specifications.

  • China Certification for Automotive Products (CCAP) specific responsibilities
    1. Ensure product consistency and conformity between product and standard
    2. Correctly use CCC certificate and mark and ensure continuous validity of certificate status of products affixed with CCC mark
    3. Approved changes to COP plans and the annual operation summary report of COP plan
    4. Follow up most current revision of compulsory certification implementation rules and product certification standards, issuance and revision of other relevant certification documents.
    5. Keep the valid status of CCC certificates
    6. Track the result of nation or provincial surveillance sampling check
    7. Ensure the product with certification mark are produced to conformity with the standards according to which they have been certified
    8. Ensure documented procedure to ensure that the compulsory certification are kept and used appropriately.

  • Must be willing to work extended hours as needed to meet production requirements

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to travel to customers and / or suppliers to deal with various issues
  • Must be able to obtain US Passport for travel outside United States

Investigates products characteristics and manufacturing processes to identify methods or improvement opportunities to meet and/or exceed customer product quality requirements. Responsibilities: * Develops and implements standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of production parts. * Designs and develops forms and instructions for recording and reporting quality data. * Coordinates root cause analysis investigation and implementation of corrective action processes, reports and follow-up. * Provides Input for quality strategy and execution. Works with management group to instill a quality culture in every facet of the operation. Demonstrates tenacity and energy in leading toward an effective, results-oriented quality team. * Develops a facility specific quality strategy to meet the compliance and system requirements of the various ISO and TS certifications and internal standards. Reviews SOP system and make adjustments as required. Ensures that appropriate personnel affected by specific SOP's are aware and comply with specifications addressed. * Establishes quality control plans for all product lines and provide manufacturing training, inspection, and verification tools to ensure conformance to quality standards. * Manages and develops the quality group, refining and monitoring quality metrics. Establishes periodic reporting to senior management on the strengths and weaknesses of the Quality System. * Works closely with production, purchasing, tooling, sales, and engineering departments on customer changes, material problems or other quality related issues, ensuring individual companies are investigating all quality issues, determining root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions including any changes to required training. Follows-up to ensure initial and ongoing compliance with corrective actions. * Ensures adequate systems and procedures for containment of non-conforming materials and products are in place and being used. * Establishes calibration programs for tools, equipment and inspection systems and ensures all are compliant. * Develops and maintains appropriate relationships with external customers to facilitate successful communications. * Assists in streamlining processes and tasks throughout the organization while maintaining high quality standards. * Fosters training and mentoring to increase skill levels of the department. * Other duties as assigned. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline * 7+ years' experience in quality management * ASQ Certification * Quality auditing * Experience with ISO quality systems implementation * Experience with inspection/measurement devices including CMM's, micrometers, calipers, height gauge, etc. * Computer literacy required (MS Office, pcDMIS) * Blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge required * Ability to lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis * Attention to detail * Process/system oriented * Excellent Communication skills Work Environment: Requires frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and prolonged standing. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs. continuously. Requires normal vision and hearing range. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
