Description

Core Responsibilities:

Program/Site Quality

  • Responsible for all project development quality related topics within the Project Life Cycle (PLC) from G20 (quote approved) until G90 (production launch completed).

  • Responsible for QM support to plants after G90 (production launch completed).

  • Prevent failures and continuously improve our products / systems / processes in order to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Development and maintenance of the Project Quality Plan (following PLC process), to assure flawless launches of advanced, generic and platform projects.

SW Quality

  • Development of Software Quality Project plans.

Continental Business System

  • Act as Coach and Mentor to Managers and their teams to support them in executing the routine to deploy our holistic Lean Management System in their areas of responsibility.

  • Actively cooperate with the Segment CBS team and/or BU HEV Team and/or other CBS Coaches in manufacturing locations to implement a common approach.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Resolution of quality issue using 8D problem solving method.

  • Management of customer returns during development phase.

  • Crisis management (e.g. Task force, sorting actions, analyses).

Continental Business System

  • Plans, performs and implements process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma).

  • Collects data to identify root cause of problems. Measures performance against process requirements.

Core Capabilities:

  • Develop, grow & structure the regional Quality & CBS organizations in pace with the business.

  • Identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to facilitate positive change.

  • Coordinate efforts associated with site IATF 16949 certification.

  • Establish close and positive working relationships with the customers, internal development & plant Quality teams.

  • Ability to establish and execute a Quality & CBS project plan in conjunction with the overall project plan.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Technical Knowledge:
    Demonstrates advance ability of developing technical solutions to new or highly complex problems. Demonstrated capability of managing others in technical areas.

  • Problem Solving: Demonstrates ability to manage a team in the careful analysis of different possible courses of action and then selecting the best solution for implementation.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage others in: Project Management, Customer, and Relationship Management and negotiation. Demonstrated ability to lead a team and perform global, diverse, and complex projects. Manage and lead a team in projects or sub-teams with internal and external customers

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering

  • Minimum 7 plus years' experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years of automotive quality engineering experience

  • 2+ years' experience in a senior staff or project lead role

  • Experience working in manufacturing Quality within a plant setting

  • Lean manufacturing and/or process knowledge

  • Program or project development/support experience from concept to launch

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Engineering

  • 7+ years preferred with automotive experience, six sigma certified, and ASQ Certification

  • Spanish language skills are a positive.

  • Experience as a Project/Program manager
