Position Title: Quality Manager

Location: Vance, AL

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required

Position Focus: This is professional work providing oversight and accountability for establishing quality

policies and programs. Incumbents are responsible for providing inspection and quality

expertise to assigned departments to accomplish Lear's goals and objectives; establishing

overall program design, budget, and staffing forecast; seeking to continuously improve

processes, practices, procedures, and performance in support of Lear objectives;

analyzing reports to determine areas of improvement and the appropriate plan of action;

and establishing and administering the Lear's quality policies in line with the corporate




  • Oversees in-process quality audits, final inspection reviews, and customer


  • Conducts in accordance with the policies of the company, and the ASQ code of


  • Provides various organizations inspection and quality support to accomplish

Lear's goals and objectives.

  • Seeks to continuously improve processes, practices, procedures, and

performance in support of Lear objectives.

  • Collaborates with other team members to reach consensus on department goals,

improvements, and service.

  • Develops and maintains budget and operating plan for the Quality Assurance


  • Analyzes reports to determine areas of improvement and the appropriate plan of


  • Plans and schedules work for the quality division, ensuring proper distribution

of assignments and adequate manning, space, and facilities for subsequent

performance of duties.

  • Plans and conducts meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with

established practices, to implement new policies, and to keep employees abreast

of current changes and standards.

Preferred Background

& Experience:

  • Knowledge of precision tooling, experience with compactors, height gauges, and


  • Knowledge of terminology pertaining to quality assurance as needed to respond

to questions and provide oversight.

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and

other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of


  • Knowledge of government specifications and standards in the Industrial field

  • Knowledge of the quality functions of an automotive plant as needed to oversee

and direct employees in these functions.

  • Knowledge of strategies such as product life cycle management (PLM), just-in-time,

and self-directed teams as needed to effectively implement these

Essential Functions: Develop a product safety awareness campaign to roll out company wide. This project includes the following: * Understand the components of product safety * Review Daimler standards related to product safety * Familiarize with the production processes in Body and Assembly shops * Interact with the Communications department to develop campaign activities and material * Manage the awareness campaign as a project including timing and resources * Work with cross functional teams who are responsible for product safety processes * Develop KPIs to proof campaign effectiveness * Give presentations to management Qualifications: * Student in: Mechanical Engineering, industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management or Information systems Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.: * Fluent in English (oral/written) * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Preferred Skills: * Project management * Organizational skills * Communication skills * Creativity * Self-driven Preferred Start Date * April 2020 Requirements * Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master's degree * A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study * Available for a minimum of 6 months How to Apply To complete your application, you must attach the following documents: * Cover letter including starting availability * Detailed CV/Resume * Transcript of records (High School and University) * Working references * Certificate of enrollment.
