We are seeking a Quality Management Specialist for our practice who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:

You will works under minimal supervision andill be responsible for coordinating quality/performance improvement initiatives impacting core clinical and operational processes required for hospital licensure and accreditation. You will conduct case reviews for quality assurance activities.

You will be responsible for abstracting and collecting clinical data elements, maintaining required logs, and conducting chart reviews to ensure compliance with established nationally recognized and publically reported quality patient outcomes as required by TJC, CMS QIO's, other state and federal agencies, and other national data registries.

Essential Duties:

1.Coordinates processes essential for compliance with requirements for hospital licensure and accreditation

2.Monitors the appropriateness of patient care based on evidence-based outcomes and clinical guidelines.

3.Maintains communications with clinical disciplines directly involved in the care of the patient, and aligns quality requirements as necessary.

4.Trains, coaches, and educates clinical and medical staff in the area of quality metrics requirements.

5.Maintains quality metrics to include but not limited to core measure knowledge through self-development, corporate compliance and training, and keeps current on all updates related to Quality Metrics requirements.

6.Assists in the planning and implementation of interventions to ensure quality metrics are implemented for all publically reported quality metrics

7.Assists in the improvement of the accreditation process by verifying the accuracy of core measure data, minimizing data calculation and aggregation errors and confirming that the data are as complete as possible. Ensures IRR is completed accurately and timely.

8.Collaborates with Medical Staff and Hospital Departmental personnel to implement PI activities utilizing FOCUS PDCA and LEAN principles to improve processes and serves as a facilitator when needed.

9.Collaborates with outside entities such as quality improvement organizations to assure adherence to the specifications and deadlines

  1. Supports Associate Vice President Quality, Quality Director, Patient Safety Director, and Infection Control Director in daily activities required for hospital functioning and process/outcome improvements.


  • High School diploma or equivalent required / Baccalaureate degree healthcare related field preferred

  • 3 years of experience in healthcare preferred

  • Quality or hospital experience preferred
