Operate CMM (coordinate measuring machines), use calipers, micrometers, height gages, comparator oscilloscopes and other devices to inspect purchased and manufactured parts, subassemblies, final assemblies and first article inspections, as required.
Perform source delegated inspections, as required.
Documentation of Inspection findings.
First Article Inspection Reports
Identify waste and participate in continuous improvement projects and cost reductions.
Essential Job Functions
First piece, in process inspections, and source inspections as required (60%).
Record inspection results, maintain log book of records, scan records (10%).
Perform audits (10%)
Some Travel for training may be required.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Resident Alien (green card holder) to support work on government projects.
Minimum two years inspection experience in Aerospace or Defense Industries.
Experience using Mauser/Zeiss/Mitutoyo/Brown & Sharp CMMs
Familiar with first piece and in-process inspection
Blue print reading, trigonometry and Geometric Tolerancing & Dimensioning
Highly skilled with calipers, micrometers, height gages, comparator oscilloscopes, spectrophotometer vision systems, CMM and other precision instruments.
Microsoft Office based programs experience.
ERP - SAP system experience.
Smart Solve system experience, preferable.
Discus First Article experience.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
AS9100 and ISO9001 familiarity.
Frequent standing or sitting for extended periods
Required lifting weight: 40 pounds
Lifting frequency: daily
Bend, lift, sit, twist and/or stand for long periods of time
Must be able to work with solvents, oils, and other chemicals as required
Must be willing to work over-time and flexible hours to meet deliverable deadlines.
Excellent computer skills.
Strong comprehension and understanding of compliance processes, rules and regulations.
Must be process improvement oriented, enjoy analyzing information, be a strong verbal communicator, must emphasize excellence, must be detail oriented, thorough and be able to deal with Complexity.
