A Quality Inspector in Cedar Park, Texas is currently available through Belcan. This job is with one of our Oil & Gas clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a High School Diploma or GED and three to five years of experience with quality inspecting. In this role, you will perform in-process, final, and/or receiving inspection, and work with inspectors and manufacturing employees in other inspection areas. Inspections are made against drawing, specification and/or instructions. This is a long term opportunity with a growing company.

Quality Inspector Job duties:

  • Perform mechanical and visual inspections on components.

  • Perform source inspections at facilities.

  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.

  • Review inspection records received for compliance.

  • Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.

  • Prepare and coordinate Non-Conformance Reports for nonconforming parts.

  • Responsible for the proper care of all company tools and measuring equipment before, during and after use.

  • Ensure that all gauges are in calibration, clean and free of rust, as well as in good working conditions at all times before use and traceable to/from their assigned storage location.

  • Ensure that all records are kept accurately updated according to established procedures

  • Identify discrepancies and prepare non-conformity reports.

Qualifications:

HS Diploma or GED or equivalent

At least 3 - 5 year related experience and/or training.

Good interpersonal and communication skills required.

Must be physically fit to perform inspection work for extended periods of time that may involve sitting, bending, stooping, standing, and repetitive arm, shoulder, and hand movements. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must demonstrate good work ethics in attendance, dependability, orderliness and teamwork.

Must have familiarity with electromechanical assembly processes.

Must be proficient with mechanical inspection tools and techniques.

CMM operation experience is a strong plus.

Experience measuring API and/or ACME threads is a plus.

Experience with JDE ERP system is a plus.

ASQ certification (inspector) preferred.

Must be able to work overtime, including weekends.

The Quality Inspector will be responsible for following and improving control systems designed to ensure exceptional product quality. The Quality Inspector will participate in the activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for the Production and Repairs Teams as well as perform a wide variety of inspection and quality control operations of a visual, dimensional, and functional nature, making necessary critical observations, tests, or competing appropriate documentation as required.
