  • Surface plate work/inspection

  • Inspect supplied product according to the applicable drawing and or work order specifications to verify that it conforms to all design requirements

  • Perform repetitive inspection following standardized methods

  • Perform receiving inspections, first article inspections, and production inspections

  • In-Process Inspection: Visual and/or dimensional inspection of precision machined and sheet metal parts

  • Interact proactively with other departments to improve products and reduce cost

  • Document production non-conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures and processes as required

  • Support Quality Management System policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives

  • Work in a cross functional environment utilizing PC-DMIS programming skills as applied to an Articulating Romer ARM and CMMs

  • Create, maintain and verify CMM programs used for the measurements of manufactured and supplied parts

  • Performs documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements


This is a TEMPORARY position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.

  • LENGTH OF POSITION: 6 months
  • LOCATION: Redmond, WA


  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 5 years of experience in precision mechanical inspection using PC-DMIS software


  • ISO 9001 / AS9100 experience

  • CMM experience with PC-DMIS software experience

  • Romer Arm experience with Verisurf/ PCDMIS software

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification using ASME Y14.5. GD&T and skillful use of metrology tools and gauges

  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

  • DCC (Direct Computer Control) experience

  • Statistical process controls experience a plus

  • Ability to detect design and drawing flaws

  • Minimum 3 years' experience with CAD based systems


  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted

  • Must be able to work all shift hours, overtime and weekend as needed

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will work in coordination with the rest of the operations management team to improve the quality of our products as seen by our customers. Responsibilities * Ensure safety of all quality personnel * Manage the buildings final audit value stream. This includes staffing, creating standard work, balancing work packages, and improving flow * Lead the quality engineering team that is responsible for improving the quality output of both our internal and external suppliers * Improve tool crib operations including developing a sustainable PM program * Drive problem solving activities through existing building specific problem solving tools * Demonstrated ability to problem solve wide ranges of problems facing value stream * Demonstrated ability to coach support teams in problem solving strategies * Drive fact based decision making, supported by data from factory operations * Synthesize customer feedback and warranty data to execute corrective actions that address route cause * Develop quality control plan program that meets the needs of both the customer and the value stream * Lead product quarantine events with fact based communication and analysis that results in rapid resolution * Manage program for non-conforming parts from internal and external suppliers that: * Achieves rapid containment * Finds route cause * Implements sustainable countermeasures * Implement and support QMS systems (ISO) * Manage and improve the non-conforming material review and control process Qualifications * Organized and capable of dealing with high volume of interactions with a broad cross-section of the company * Bachelor's degree or above in engineering/technical field * 4 or more years direct experience in quality engineering * 1 or more years of management experience * Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing * Willingness to work at all levels of the organization to include office and shop-floor activities * Ability to communicate effectively with customers about quality issues and initiatives * Must have demonstrated leadership experience * Excellent problem solving skills * Related experience required; quality management activities such as quality systems development, customer and supplier quality relations, process controls, corrective and preventive action * Demonstrated experience as a change agent in driving a cultural shift from inspection based systems to more proactive, process focused environment Preferred Qualifications: * Knowledge and functional experience in an ISO Quality Management Systems environment preferred * Statistical training, computer skills, related technical background preferred * Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing supplier development programs Location: US-WA Redmond-B7 HR Department: Operations Job ID: 1742 Terex Overview: Terex Corporation is a $4.5 billion, publicly traded global manufacturer of lifting and material processing products and services.
