  • Surface plate work/inspection

  • Inspect supplied product according to the applicable drawing and or work order specifications to verify that it conforms to all design requirements

  • Perform repetitive inspection following standardized methods

  • Perform receiving inspections, first article inspections, and production inspections

  • In-Process Inspection: Visual and/or dimensional inspection of precision machined and sheet metal parts

  • Interact proactively with other departments to improve products and reduce cost

  • Document production non-conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures and processes as required

  • Support Quality Management System policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives

  • Work in a cross functional environment utilizing PC-DMIS programming skills as applied to an Articulating Romer Arm and CMMs

  • Create, maintain and verify CMM programs used for the measurements of manufactured and supplied parts

  • Performs documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements


  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years of experience in precision mechanical inspection using PC-DMIS software


  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification using ASME Y14.5. GD&T and skillful use of metrology tools and gauges

  • ISO 9001 / AS9100 experience

  • CMM experience with PC-DMIS software experience

  • Romer Arm experience with Verisurf/PCDMIS software

  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

  • DCC (Direct Computer Control) experience

  • Statistical process controls experience a plus

  • Ability to detect design and drawing flaws

  • 3 years' experience with CAD based systems


  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted

  • Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform quality release for finished goods: * Verify that the Device History Record DHR fulfills requirements and that product is ready for distribution * Follow established requirements to make quality decisions during acceptance and release activities Analyze/Manage/control nonconforming material * Identify, tag, and physically segregate discrepant material * Make conforming/nonconforming decisions by evaluating product against established requirements * Create and manage nonconformance reports NCs for discrepant material. * Perform electronic inventory transactions in the Enterprise Resource Planning ERP system * Forward nonconforming material to the Material Review Board MRB for disposition Perform receiving inspection activities against inspection plan requirements * Use calibrated equipment to perform measurements or testing and record applicable data from inspection activities Inspections for workmanship on Printed Circuit Board Assemblies PCBAs per the IPC-A-610 industry acceptance standards * Manage sampling levels for incoming material following acceptance or rejection of inspections Facilitate Line Clearing and Inventory Reconciliation for Product Hold Orders PHOs * Ensure product affected by a product hold is counted, identified and properly quarantined Maintain timely flow of material * Work closely with various members of Manufacturing, Procurement, Distribution, Engineering, and Quality to ensure good coordination of activities * Follow all relevant work instructions and quality procedures Continually seek process improvements and make recommendations to management. * Stay current with all assigned training requirements Perform other related duties as required BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent DESIRED / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Quick learner, customer focused, accountable, and operates with a sense of urgency Demonstrated attention to detail and organization Basic PC skills Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook Ability to follow written Quality Management System policies, procedures, and work instructions Kelly Services, Inc.
