Job Overview

As Quality Inspector, you will;

  • Perform final inspections on machine components

  • Use standard inspection equipment including RAM and OGP

  • Inspect product from production or suppliers

  • Perform Inspection on Deliveries shipping to customers to ensure that all the Quality requirements are met.

  • Setup, and operate measuring systems to determine whether parts meet print dimensions

  • Establish daily priorities and determine the most important tasks to perform at any given time of the day

  • Use various software applications including Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word

  • Ability to send and receive data instructions via E-mail using the above applications

  • Communicate the results of inspections to Engineering, Inspection and Management

  • Ability to work and train inspectors and other personnel on use of the OGP and RAM or other standard measurement equipment

  • Work with production personnel to trouble shoot and problem solve issues related to inspection of components or other similar problems

What your background should look like:

  • Prior inspection experience preferred

  • Ability to read blueprints

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Previous SPC experience optional

  • This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Job Overview TE Connectivity is looking for a team-oriented, results-driven, hands-on manufacturing and process development engineer to represent ISG VAP Harnessing product development team in our Rt. 230 manufacturing facility in Mount Joy, PA. This position will report to the development team in Middletown, PA. Ideally, this individual will have experience in the manufacture and testing of electrical wiring harnesses to IPC standards as well as build-to-print integrated systems -- which include relays, contactors, connectors and other electrical components. Experience with Six-Sigma development and manufacturing practices in an industrial environment is preferable. Responsibilities * Develop manufacturing processes for harness assemblies, cables, and integrated systems. * Document assembly requirements through manufacturing instructions. * Collaborate between quality, development and production during first article builds. * Support and sometimes lead the resolution of quality issues and process deviations. * Support and sometimes lead scrap reduction, rate improvement, and cost reduction projects. * Complete process/product development projects including sample runs. * Design and develop tools and fixtures required for assembly and testing. * Support capital equipment projects by specifying and implementing new manufacturing equipment/techniques. * Implement Six-Sigma manufacturing practices and metrics. * Provide Six-Sigma guidance in support of planned events, such as Kaizen. * Maintain strong attention to detail, while working with a sense of urgency. * Handle multiple responsibilities and react quickly to changing priorities with flexibility and willingness. * Complete quotes to accurately estimate: assembly rates, cost of required equipment and lead times. * Develop and document manufacturing process plans (manufacturing steps, line balancing, required staffing) * Participate in design reviews to optimize a design's manufacturability - suggest design, process, or equipment changes. * Participate in process reviews and PFMEAs. * Participate in production readiness reviews. Qualifications * Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience. * 2-5 years of experience in an industrial environment involving harness/cable assembly, intricate soldering operations, and/or integrated system assembly. * Strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels of the organization. * Experience with 2D/3D drafting/modeling, and dimensioning/detailing of engineering prints. * Ability to lead cross-functional teams and encourage cultural change. * Hands-on experience with continuous improvement techniques. * Six Sigma Green belt training is a plus * Ability to travel to vendors and customers (up to 10%.) Preferred Experience: * Working knowledge of SAP routings and bill of materials * Ability to educate team members to improve productivity * Certifications in soldering such as IPC J-STD-001 * Experience building harnesses to IPC-620, IPC 620 Space, NASA 8739.4 * Strong knowledge of wire processing and wire termination techniques. * Experience programming and operating Cirris electrical test equipment. * Experience in potting and encapsulation with two-part resins.
