The Role:

Our site in Bloomington, MN is looking for a Quality Inspector. As a quality inspector, you will ensure incoming, in-process, and finished products all meet the highest quality standards and customer specifications. This role involves tasks like examining in-process products in a high-level cleanroom environment by utilizing various measurement tests/techniques, maintaining quality reports, and assisting with quality process audits.

What You'll Do:

• Approves incoming, in-process, and finished products, confirming specifications by employing various visual and measurement tests/techniques.

• Rejects unacceptable materials. Creates quality notification for non-conformances.

• Effectively communicates discrepancies to production supervisor and provides insights to determine corrective/preventative actions.

• Documents inspection results. Completes reports and logs by inputting data into quality database.

• Collects samples to evaluate cleanroom environmental conditions by utilizing specialized tools and interprets results.

• Assists in conducting quality process audits to look for improvements.

• Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs as needed.

• Understands and applies statistical process control techniques, including basic chart interpretation and capability analysis.

• Strictly follows cleanroom protocols. This includes the use of specified protective gear and garments designed to maintain clean and controlled work environment conditions.

• Integrates on all key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product/system quality. Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities. Participates actively in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc.

• Maintains a clean and safe work area. Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures. Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor.

• Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals.

What We Seek:

• At least one (1) year of previous experience as a quality inspector in a manufacturing/cleanroom environment preferred.

• Experience navigating SAP or other Quality Management Systems is preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, etc.)

• Ability to read and understand blueprints or diagrams detailing product specifications.

• Willingness to learn, thorough, detailed orientated, open to receive feedback.

• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

• Ability to use various measurement tools, including calipers, pin gage set, height gage, test indicator, micrometer, pitch micrometer, dial indicator, surface plate, optical comparator, and coordinate measuring machine (CMM).

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk for 35% of the shift.

• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to be used while in the production area. This includes the use of safety glasses and steel-toed shoes.

• This role involves occasionally working in a clean-room environment for quality inspection processes. This includes the use of specified protective gear and garments (gown, hair and beard nets, shoe coverings, and gloves) designed to maintain a clean and controlled work environment.
