How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Quality Inspector and/or Crater, you will work as a team in the final inspection and crating of finished goods. The Quality Inspector is a cross functional role that may test, inspect, package, and crate completed fans to meet on time delivery and exceed customer satisfaction.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Safety

  • Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business

  • Maintain general work areas and/or equipment used in a clean and orderly condition

  • Ensure proper and effective operation of equipment and tools throughout entire process. Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor

  • Delivery

  • Able to read job tickets, work orders, and instructions

  • Use of hand truck, forklift, and related devices

  • Securely pack and wrap product for shipment

  • Familiar with hand tools, drill presses, foam machines, cranes, and other tools used in a shop or manufacturing environment

  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment as needed

  • Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision

  • Quality

  • Confirm material, sizes, and parts match job tickets

  • Ensure all parts and surfaces are free from defects

  • Able to self-monitor quality of own work, and report to lead or supervisor unusual, defective, or operating difficulties

  • Complete all tasks and work within designed quality guidelines

  • Culture

  • Desire to do the right thing

  • Team player, assisting other team members and departments as needed with other duties not routine to position

  • Punctual, on time, ready to work, every day

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Self-driven, able to work independently, and as a team

  • Follow instructions

  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, drawings, and specifications

  • Strong attention to detail and quality, working within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy

  • Basic math skills

  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
