Summary :

Inspect aerospace components by following instructions, viewing and contributing to the computer database, and using inspection tooling to perform first article inspections to industry criteria. Conduct inspections with direction from Quality Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions including: finding job paperwork from the computer database; read blueprints; set-up and use of inspection tooling; and perform visual inspections to tight aerospace criteria; inspect the first part of the machining process.
  • Conduct inspections independently with minimal supervision.
  • Identify critical information from drawings such as:
    • Geometric tolerance
    • Additional notes
    • Proper revisions
  • Use various inspection tooling and gauging which include: CMM, Comparator, Microhite, Pocket Surf, Indicator, Johnson Gage, Sunnen Gage, Air Gage, all other hand tools as necessary.
  • Perform a visual inspection of each work piece to ensure it is free of any visual defects such as burrs, nicks, surface finish, scratches and other deleterious imperfections. Visual inspection may require the use of a microscope or other magnification devices.
  • Perform dimensional inspection as called out on the first article inspection paperwork.
  • Exchange vital information with machine operators about the quality of parts being manufactured.
  • Assign frequency for in-process inspection of parts.

Education & Experience

Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), one to three years experience in manufacturing/inspection, and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Knowledge and

Skills:

  • Communicating effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form
  • Performing statistical process control input and interpret statistical data to compensate for machining deviation
  • Completing mathematical calculations on fractions, percentages, and decimals and metric conversion

Title: Quality Assurance Team Leader Reports To: Quality Assurance Lab Supervisor Overall Focus: Support and facilitate verification for key projects as well as to support the manufacturing process through the auditing of products, process and production facilities assuring company standard, policies and protocols are maintained and product integrity as well as Food Safety is preserved. FLSA Designation: Hourly non-exempt Salary grade: T7 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Ensures a safe work environment for team by demonstrating and enforcing safe behavior. * Successfully implement Operations Execution Model. * Drives operations first pass quality to deliver World Class Customer Service. * Is a constant leadership presence on the plant floor. * Effectively communicates expectations, provides timely feedback to performance to those expectations, and takes timely and appropriate disciplinary action when necessary. * Promotes engagement and maximum effort through demonstrated behaviors and positive recognition. * Actively demonstrates respect for all people, product, processes, equipment, and customers. * Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance related programs such as HACCP, SSOP's, GMP's and Food Safety. * Verify and ensure that plant personnel adhere to required quality control testing, GMP'S and equipment sanitation practices, confirm these procedures are being maintained. * Supports facility Commissioning process through implementing, research and documentation * Coordinates with R&D and any other necessary groups the correct testing and samples to be collected. * Works and communicates with R&D to capture results of commissioning to document process * In-Process through Finished Product Testing * Monitors inspections and testing methods for in process product to ensure adherence to specifications and testing methodology. * Performs Process Control Point verifications at regular intervals * Ensures the accuracy and completeness of the QA document system. * Informs QA Lab Supervisor and/or QA and Food Safety Manager of any non-conformances as well as production personnel. * Investigates any non-conformances by leading the root cause analysis in collaboration with Production Team Leaders. Document findings and share with QA Lab Supervisor. * Coordinates collection of additional samples and testing to gather information. * Confirms set points and formula versions. * Coordinates with production to gather all information available that may be related to the non-conformance. * Ensures all staff effectively perform testing requirements and properly document findings, communication and results of all testing. * Ensures all staff understand testing requirements and coordinates with Lead any trending actions that may lead to nonconformance. * Performs batching verification checks for formula adherence * Finished product review. * Review of documentation for accuracy and completeness. * Provides training to staff to communicate to production analytical progress to ensure first pass quality. * Manages filing and scanning of production packets into Docuware. * Document corrective actions issued to control the quality of finished product or service. Review of activities and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
