Summary :

Inspect aerospace components by following instructions, viewing and contributing to the computer database, and using inspection tooling to perform first article inspections to industry criteria. Conduct inspections with direction from Quality Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions including: finding job paperwork from the computer database; read blueprints; set-up and use of inspection tooling; and perform visual inspections to tight aerospace criteria; inspect the first part of the machining process.
  • Conduct inspections independently with minimal supervision.
  • Identify critical information from drawings such as:
    • Geometric tolerance
    • Additional notes
    • Proper revisions
  • Use various inspection tooling and gauging which include: CMM, Comparator, Microhite, Pocket Surf, Indicator, Johnson Gage, Sunnen Gage, Air Gage, all other hand tools as necessary.
  • Perform a visual inspection of each work piece to ensure it is free of any visual defects such as burrs, nicks, surface finish, scratches and other deleterious imperfections. Visual inspection may require the use of a microscope or other magnification devices.
  • Perform dimensional inspection as called out on the first article inspection paperwork.
  • Exchange vital information with machine operators about the quality of parts being manufactured.
  • Assign frequency for in-process inspection of parts.

Education & Experience


High school diploma or general education degree (GED), one to three years experience in manufacturing/inspection, and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Knowledge and


  • Communicating effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form
  • Performing statistical process control input and interpret statistical data to compensate for machining deviation
  • Completing mathematical calculations on fractions, percentages, and decimals and metric conversion

For more information about our Company, visit Title: Quality Assurance Technician Reports To: Quality Assurance Team Leader Overall Focus: Retrieve samples and perform required tests to ensure compliance with specifications. Perform advanced test and equipment calibration as assigned. FLSA Designation: Hourly non-exempt Level: 12 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Retrieve samples according to established schedule * Analyze samples according to established methods to ensure adherence to specifications * Collect results * Enter results into database * Review results to ensure compliance with specifications * Provide feedback to operators and manufacturing mangers regarding non-conforming products and packaging * Communicate results according to established communication methods * Ensure that lab is clean at all times following established cleaning and sanitation practices * Maintain and calibrate lab equipment and the HR equipment * Perform microbiological testing * Ensures that the Ainsworth Food Safety program is adhered to * Ensures that all SOP's are being followed * All Staff shall be informed to report food safety issues to supervision with the authority to initiate action. * Alerts QA Manager for need to update or modify SOP's based on needed changes to the processes * Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and job instructions * Take corrective actions when measures are out of specification * Take and document required process, quality measures * Meet or exceed established targets * Works directly with SQF program * Adhere to all sanitation procedures * Follow all GMP's * Keep process areas clean and neat * Ensure all areas meet sanitation requirements * Adheres to sanitation procedures * Actively participate as a member of the Ainsworth Safety Program * Follow all safety procedures * Report all unsafe actions and conditions * Live by Ainsworth Values * Assume responsibility for self-improvement * Participate in the improvement/problem solving process * Show up to work on time * Dress appropriately * Maintain good personal hygiene * Take breaks of appropriate length and frequency * Assumes responsibility for own personal development and continuous learning * Keeps abreast on new technology, methods and regulations related to responsibilities * Practices customer intimacy with internal and external customers in day to day responsibilities QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge and skills necessary to meet organizational objectives) Education / Experience: Associate's Degree or 3-5 years' experience in a Quality Assurance or Food Manufacturing setting and a High School Diploma or GED required.
