Job Responsibilities

The candidate will self-manage their workload:

  • Self-management will include scheduling and performing measurements personally using basic applied research and development practices. The candidate will interpret and analyze measurement results, often where few guidelines exist and provide detailed reports to Principal Engineer.

  • The candidate will work with a considerable degree of independence. However, at times, the candidate may collaborate with Engineer (s) regarding measurement strategy of surface texture analysis. This may include pre & post process surface morphology of complex coatings, material specific etch wear rate and much more...

  • At times, the candidate will be required to develop specific new applications and work with suppliers providing training.

Other Job Responsibilities

At times this candidate will be required to support other metrology needs in the lab. Working in the capacity of CNC CMM Operator, conducting Zeiss Surfcom contact profilometry measurements and other related metrology functions.

Minimum Qualification

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years' on-the-job experience using CNC equipment in a fast paced work manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in applicable science

  • 5 years minimum using Confocal Microscope, preferably a Keyence VK-X200.

  • 2 years min. of on the job-experience using CNC equipment in high pace environment.

  • Understand and at times edit existing programs on complex part applications using Zeiss Calypso software from 3D solid-models and 2D drawings.

  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings per ASME Y14.5M-2009 and otherwise have a highly proficient knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)

  • Ability to create detailed analytical reports to internal customers.

  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to accurately complete detailed work.

  • Effective communication skills, and the ability to work with others in a team environment.

  • Experienced generating spreadsheet, basic office computer skills MS-Office

  • Experienced in using basic Quality control related tools and documentation.
