Your responsibilities ThyssenKrupp Aerospace NA is looking for a Quality Inspector I. You will apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to the work order specifications. You will ensure that processing equipment and area is maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition. You will also be working alongside a diverse group of people. To be considered for this Job, you MUST have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems

  • Ability to learn correct use of basic measurement instruments (tape measure, scales, gauges)

  • Basic computer knowledge to complete data entry

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to accurately inspect basic material, commodities, and/or processes

We HIGHLY prefer candidates who have:

  • Some college courses or certificates in Quality Assurance-related field of study

  • Prior experience using basic measurement instruments

  • Prior experience in a quality assurance inspection position

Your profile You'll be responsible for:

  • Accurately inspect raw materials and products visually, as well as with gauges, scales, or other measurement instruments as required and according to work instructions

  • Segregate non-conforming parts or material

  • Complete required documentation for work performed

  • Perform data entry of work results into appropriate databases

  • Perform final inspection to reconcile outgoing shipments, as required

  • May be required to identify causes of non-conformance

Perform samples selection, taking random samples of publications from machine or table and examine the product for a variety of possible defects such as ragged edges, torn or wrinkled pages, incomplete cuts, incorrect bindings, smeared or blotched colors, dirt on the product, and any other visual defect that is out of specification. Follow inspection checklist and record any identified defects. Notify operating personnel of defects. Main Responsibilities: * Perform visual inspection of production materials for defects that are out of specification. * Follow Quality System procedures and work instructions and record any identified defects. * Ensure that the products meet quality conformance specified by the customer and/or RR Donnelley. * Assist with the disposition of suspect or defective materials. * Prepare written reports and provide notification to manufacturing management of known or found defects. Work Environment: * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and risk of electrical shock. Employees are expected to use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and follow appropriate procedures as recommended by EHS when conditions require its use. This may include, but is not limited to; hearing protection, goggles safety shoes, lockout/tagout, etc. RRD is an EEO/AA including Vets and Disabled Employer Required Skills Skills/Experience: * Must be able to work standing for entire shift (up to 12 hours). * Must be able to bend, twist, walk (moving about to accomplish tasks), stretch, lift (raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position), use hands and fingers repetitively, climb, talk or hear, reach (extending hands and arms in any direction for entire shift (up to 12 hours). * Ability to work in a team environment efficiently. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Must be able to lift 35 lb cartons regularly. * Ability to use pallet jack. * Must have strong attention to detail. * Must have strong ability to see small changes in color.
