An exciting and challenging opportunity to provide advanced project management support for the Anesthesiology Quality Improvement Program and operational leadership of the University of Michigan department of anesthesiology! This position is one of skilled, complex, project leadership involving: high-level communication; confidential data/information handling; communication material design and production; hospital and departmental leadership presentations. This position also assists with regulatory accreditation preparedness and awareness, effectively manages multiple databases related to project coordination, task management, clinical risk reports, etc. The position will be expected to conduct root cause analysis and incident follow-up, respond to inquiries and complaints regarding matters of a sensitive and confidential nature, provide guidance for multiple large faculty-led committees, manage and update web content as needed, and overall coordinate implementation efforts in complex clinical environments with a wide variety of constituents. In all efforts, this individual will effectively establish and monitor project charters, team deadlines, and stakeholder communication.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus 5 years of relevant project management work experience. Candidate must be self-motivated and demonstrate excellent judgment in problem solving when developing daily work priorities. The applicant must have strong ability to work independently, multi-task deadlines and work collaboratively with others. Advanced experience in performing and prioritizing multiple computer based tasks is necessary. Must have effective communication skills, relate positively with community and communicate with utmost tact and diplomacy. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite PowerPoint, Word, Excel. Above all, candidate must bring sense of continuously improving and contributing to overall objectives of the team.
A qualified candidate should have a minimum of 5 years' experience in full-time project management utilizing standard project management tools such as risk assessments, FMEAs, value stream maps, usability studies, etc. Data analysis/graphing and database experience is desirable. Applicant should have previous experience assisting with strategic communication preparation, proofing, and editing, as well as authorship of clinical or performance improvement publications.
