The Role

We are excited to bring eager, talented students on board and provide them with an unparalleled internship experience. The Entegris Internship Program consists of real work experience, cross-functional learning and development opportunities, and a variety of social and volunteering events.

In this role, the Quality Engineering Summer Intern will:

  • Have a hands-on experience that will include exposure to the entire production flow from product design to raw materials receipt to products delivered to the customer.

  • Work collaboratively with the Quality Engineering, Operations, and Equipment Engineering teams to optimize parts of the manufacturing process, enabling higher quality and lower cycle time.

In this role you will

  • Complete at least one project that reduces the manufacturing cycle time in the San Luis Obispo facility. Project difficulty will be determined by past co-op experience and current business needs

  • Aid other Quality Engineering professionals in improving the quality systems used across the organization

  • Be exposed to the various responsibilities of a Quality Engineer including validation of changes, improvement of quality systems, aiding in robust product design, and general support of the operation

  • Learn statistical techniques that enable identification of optimized solutions to difficult problems

  • Independent thinker, able to work in team, creative and committed. Practical, detail oriented, and accurate

  • Solid technical background with ability to read electrical schematics, piping & instrumentation diagrams and mechanical drawings

  • Passion for hands-on work with a desire to understand how things are made, how they work, and how they can be improved

  • Desired Major: Engineering

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of December 2020 or later

Essential Functions & Qualifications Required: * Experience developing and delivering workshops in workplace readiness and employability skills Or in native garden landscape design and maintenance OR basic construction OR other vocational and career-related subject, as needed.; * Experience providing job coaching/mentoring to youth. * Experience leading youth in work experience activities; * Complete Mandated reporter training prior to start of the assignment. * Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community education and recreation students Additional Information Three positions will be offered: 4 hours per day (12-4 pm) for 5 weeks 6/15 through 7/16/20 (Monday-Thursday) and up to 16 additional hours for program orientation and planning prior to program start date and for evaluation following the conclusion of the program. Classroom Facilitator III will need to complete the Mandated Reported training (2 hours) prior to the start of the assignment. This recruitment is also for Guest speaker assignments (one or two one-hour presentations in a career field, such as allied health, construction trades, business and entrepreneurship, IT...)
