Job Summary: The Quality Engineer will be responsible for performing a variety of Quality Control and Inspection activities to support the QHSE, Projects and Manufacturing departments to monitor processes and inspect product in component and final form to ensure that the delivered product meets the required customer, industry, national and international standards as applicable.
Functional Job Duties:
Responsible for all Quality documents on projects
Develop Inspection & Test Plans to project requirements
Qualify and specify welding procedures to ASME IX, NACE, Cryo applications
Specify relevant NDE procedures in accordance with project requirements
Qualify welders and maintain welder continuity logs to ASME Section IX
Review drawings & calculations for ASME Code and job specification compliance
Coordinate customer inspections with Supply Chain and Project Engineering
Work with customer representatives to complete inspections for release of equipment
Ensure calibrated test equipment and maintain records
Perform internal audits per Quality Management System requirements
Participate in ASME/National Board annual/Joint Reviews, ISO audits, and customer audits
Knowledge of specifications: ASME, ASTM, NACE, API, GOST, Aramco, Bechtel, BP, Chevron, Shell, ConocoPhillips, Dow, ExxonMobil, KBR, CBI, Samsung, etc.
Pre-inspection meetings with Customers and Project Manager
Participate in teams to help make necessary improvements and changes to process related issues
Assist in performing inspections: MT, PT, PMI, hardness, paint, visual, dimensional, etc.
Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint
Use of AutoCAD or DraftSight
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Good investigative and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Decision making ability and the ability to work independently and proactively
Ability to read/comprehend blueprints and technical specifications
Previous industry work experience beneficial
Experience working with one or more of the following standards (beneficial): American Welding Society (AWS) codes D1.1, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code Section VIII, B31.3, and STS-1.
Knowledge of destructive and nondestructive testing beneficial
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
