Summary
The Quality Engineer assists the Quality Team with production projects, and
continuous improvement initiatives with a primary focus on cable manufacturing.
The position provides hands-on Quality / Industrial Engineering experience in an
exciting Manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide Quality audit and review of the manufacturing floor work
instructions, machine settings, proper use of tooling, gages, purchase
specifications/drawings, storage conditions and shelf life, calibration of M&TE
(Measuring and Test Equipment) with focus on reducing/minimizing variation in
processes
Review and audit actual work in-process and verify against manufacturing work
instructions for accuracy, completeness, and correctness
Suggest and initiate any changes to work instructions, to ensure work
instructions are current and accurately reflect the build job
Review and audit purchase specifications and other manufacturing related
testing and manufacturing documents
Review customer and regulatory drawings in comparison to Manufacturing
Instructions and establish what customer requirements have been captured and
recorded for in-process and final inspections and identify additional
inspections needed
Drive Continuous Improvement and recommendations based upon audits and
process reviews
Ability to learn how to use and program CMM's and to use x-ray machines
Support Quality calibration efforts as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience - minimum 2 years
Quality experience
Experience in electro-mechanical testing and manufacturing (RF and/or
microwave experience preferred)
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
Extremely well-organized with superior attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask, work in a high paced environment and meet deadlines
