The Quality Engineer is responsible for performing and supporting various quality assurance and quality control activities to support:
Promoting and sustaining the Quality Management System
Training and Coaching associates on various processes including problem solving
Leading and Facilitating the effective implementation of robust Quality Assurance and Quality Control projects and activities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety and Company Policies:
Practice and promote the company's safety standards and policies
Report potentially unsafe conditions
Uses appropriate tools and PPE
Adhere to the company's code of ethics and policies
Facilitate effective process deployment with affected process owners and cross-functional team members
Ensure compliance of processes being developed to the Quality Management System framework (Internal and External requirements)
Manage the timeliness and effectiveness of corrective action plans for non-conformances associated with Internal Audits
Maintain and coordinate activities related to the Document Control System to keep it up to date
Interface with suppliers for problem resolution and cost recovery
Analyze Warranty, Customer Complaints and internal quality data to identify trends and champion/facilitate the problem-solving process
Follow, promote and coach associates using structured and data-driven problem-solving methodologies for all aspects of Problem Resolution including Problem Definition, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventive Actions and Horizontal Deployment
Continuous Quality Improvement:
Lead the cross-functional team in the development of pre-production and production Control Plans
Establish inspection standards / methods for inspection, testing and evaluation and implement the same
Participate in the Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation process by assessing supplier Quality Systems and Supplier Performance
Support company-wide Continuous Improvement initiatives and activities by developing processes, conducting audits, identifying waste elimination / improvement opportunities and participating in kaizen events
Facilitate sharing of Best Practices and Lessons Learned across Functions, Plants and Business units

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university;
5+ years of relevant quality engineering / quality systems experience
Degree in Mechanical or Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering is preferred
ASQ-CQE Certification is a plus
Six-Sigma Certification is a plus
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic email, Spread Sheet, Word Processing and Presentation Software; Mintab knowledge is a plus.
