Summary

The Quality Engineer is responsible for performing and supporting various quality assurance and quality control activities to support:

  • Promoting and sustaining the Quality Management System

  • Training and Coaching associates on various processes including problem solving

  • Leading and Facilitating the effective implementation of robust Quality Assurance and Quality Control projects and activities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safety and Company Policies:

  • Practice and promote the company's safety standards and policies

  • Report potentially unsafe conditions

  • Uses appropriate tools and PPE

  • Adhere to the company's code of ethics and policies

  • Quality Systems:

  • Facilitate effective process deployment with affected process owners and cross-functional team members

  • Ensure compliance of processes being developed to the Quality Management System framework (Internal and External requirements)

  • Manage the timeliness and effectiveness of corrective action plans for non-conformances associated with Internal Audits

  • Maintain and coordinate activities related to the Document Control System to keep it up to date

  • Interface with suppliers for problem resolution and cost recovery

  • Problem Solving:

  • Analyze Warranty, Customer Complaints and internal quality data to identify trends and champion/facilitate the problem-solving process

  • Follow, promote and coach associates using structured and data-driven problem-solving methodologies for all aspects of Problem Resolution including Problem Definition, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventive Actions and Horizontal Deployment

  • Continuous Quality Improvement:

  • Lead the cross-functional team in the development of pre-production and production Control Plans

  • Establish inspection standards / methods for inspection, testing and evaluation and implement the same

  • Participate in the Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation process by assessing supplier Quality Systems and Supplier Performance

  • Support company-wide Continuous Improvement initiatives and activities by developing processes, conducting audits, identifying waste elimination / improvement opportunities and participating in kaizen events

  • Facilitate sharing of Best Practices and Lessons Learned across Functions, Plants and Business units

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university;

  • 5+ years of relevant quality engineering / quality systems experience

  • Degree in Mechanical or Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering is preferred

  • ASQ-CQE Certification is a plus

  • Six-Sigma Certification is a plus

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic email, Spread Sheet, Word Processing and Presentation Software; Mintab knowledge is a plus.

Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for creating high quality custom designed products at a minimum cost while meeting and exceeding customer satisfaction for US Navy, Nuclear and Petrochemical controller applications.</p><p><br>The Senior Electrical Engineer will utilize schematic capture, circuit simulation, FPGA programming tools as well as other design and business tools to communicate designs to the business. The products include motor controllers, motor-generator sets, electronic overload relays and bus transfer switches. Comprising these products are Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), field-busses, electromechanical switching devices, relays, printed circuit boards and embedded computers.<br> </p><p>Essential Functions<br> </p><p>Create custom product designs that meet customer requirements, and meet or exceed quality and cost targets.</p><p>Create system block diagrams, schematics, and detailed electrical designs.</p><p>Create product Bills of Materials and execute Engineering Change Requests, and enter into the ERP system (Visual Manufacturing).</p><p>Review Design Specs to understand customer requirements, interact with Sales to prepare proposals as required.</p><p>Support manufacturing to resolve design issues for designs created.</p> Marshall Graham Bristol CT
