Reports directly to the Quality Manager and is responsible with assisting in all aspects of daily quality topics to assure that all products manufactured by the organization meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels.


  • Participate in new part launch, and engineering changes to ensure quality issues are addressed.
  • Provide PPAP documentation as required by customer for new part launch, and engineering changes, and annual re-certification.
  • Participate in process development of new product.
  • Participate in development of the PFMEA.
  • Develop control plans per print requirements, and PFMEA outcomes.
  • Develop inspections requirements per print specification in CAQ
  • Develop work instructions as required.
  • Train plant personnel on work instructions as required.
  • Lead and direct corrective actions.
  • Initiate root cause analysis tools as needed, 5Y, 8D, fishbone.
  • Interact with customer as required on the status of the corrective action.
  • Disposition of non-conforming product as required
  • Track warranty issues until conclusion.
  • Perform gage R&R per ANOVA method as required on load/torque testers, comparator, calipers, micrometers, Keyence, gage blocks, and gages.
  • Perform capability studies as required.
  • Dimensional layouts as required.
  • Perform cycle testing, hot set testing as required.
  • Develop parameters for process verification as required.
  • Review of supplier PPAPs
  • Customer/supplier visits as required.
  • Participate in all audits, customer, internal, surveillance, supplier, and ISO14001
  • Access customer websites, and upload information as required.
  • Understand and follow procedures of IATF16949, and ISO14001.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Team oriented, work effectively and efficiently within the team and across organizational boundaries as required.


Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent work experience required. Statistical analysis, precision measurement, and process capability studies will become an intricate part of the quality assurance program; therefore, formal education in courses related to these areas such as mathematics, statistics, Six Sigma, and industrial processes are essential for this position.

The successful candidate will be based at our Muskegon, Michigan operations site and provide support for other department locations, as well as other clients. Typical responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: * Providing hands on assistance in Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) operations * Obtaining Wastewater Operators Licenses, potentially multiple states and classifications * Troubleshooting WWTPs, including biological and/or physical-chemical unit process * Assisting with conceptual and preliminary design of industrial WWTPs * Conducting WWTP performance evaluations * Supporting equipment trouble shooting and repairs * Writing Operating Procedures and Health and Safety Plans * Assisting with operating budgets and plans * Providing operator training * Working independently, as well as part of a team * Conducting independent technical analyses * Scoping and conducting fieldwork * Performing site visits and investigations * Developing innovative solutions for problems in project work * Preparing documentation of technical analyses and research * Developing proposals, reports and client communications * Participating in client meetings and playing significant role in client contacts * Assisting in training less experienced staff * Scoping and overseeing treatability laboratory experiments, pilot scale testing, and industrial field work * Performing project work on discharge impacts on receiving water studies and wastewater and stormwater permitting Our ideal engineering candidate should possess the following skills: * Knowledge of basic water and wastewater treatment chemistry * Strong mechanical, electrical and instrumentation trouble shooting and repair skills * Ability and willingness to work as a responsible, independent team player in a consulting environment, including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously * Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Power Point etc.) * Knowledge of Microsoft Project * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Self motivated * Good time management * Detail oriented * Active listener * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Requirements: Candidates must have a BS or MS in a relevant discipline (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical engineering) from an accredited institution PE licensure or on track to take PE licensure exam is a plus 5 to 8 years of experience in operations, engineering, industry or consulting (experience in the wastewater consulting field is preferred) Candidates must be willing to travel possess a valid driver's license. Travel may include overnight stay (potentially multiple nights) and may domestic or international. The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. In certain situations, this position may expose the candidate to extremes in weather (hot/cold); high noise levels, to hazards such as a proximity to moving machine parts and moving vehicles, electrical current and exposure to chemicals.
