JOB SUMMARY: --

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team at our corporate headquarters! In this position you will support the Corporate Quality Team in establishing and maintaining quality and food safety system, managing specifications and instituting statistical process control (SPC).

What is my day to day like -- Your day-to-day will encompass ensuring products meet quality standards through various methods such as inspections, tests, and data analysis, as well as collaborating with other departments to identify and resolve quality issues, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain product consistency and customer satisfaction. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Quality Assurance:

  • Actively work on improving the current quality and food system to align with BRC requirements, ensuring adherence to industry standards.

  • Maintaining and controlling quality system documentation, including initiating and coordinating internal audits, management reviews, and corrective actions.

  • Audit operator inspections for compliance, coordinate training sessions on quality procedures, and meticulously maintain quality reports encompassing part weights, scrap, performance, and sigma levels.

  • Food Safety:

  • Collaborate in establishing and maintaining the company's Food Safety Program, conducting audits to identify and report non-conformances, and diligently maintaining food safety and GMP records for third-party audits.

  • Administer the material traceability program to ensure product safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Quality Engineering:

  • Spearhead the evaluation and implementation of advanced data collection and charting techniques to enhance quality monitoring.

  • Provide comprehensive training to personnel and oversee the implementation of real-time Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems.

  • Lead the establishment of SPC pilot programs across all plants, progressively expanding them to encompass all production lines and product ranges, while continuously monitoring compliance and effectiveness to drive quality improvements and reduce scrap.

What makes a person successful in this position.

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or industrial engineering or related field

  • Proficiency in MS Office including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a plus

  • Experience in implementing and maintaining SPC system

  • Experience in establishing quality management system
