Quanex is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team located in Bowling Green, KY or Foreston, MN.

As the Quality Engineer you'll be a process engineer and an expert in quality tools who will develop and maintain quality engineering methodologies, systems and practices which meet Quanex and customer requirements. We'll rely on your quality expertise to support departmental, plant, and divisional quality goals and priorities.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Identify and implement effective process control systems.

  • Establishes quality testing philosophy, requirements, design and develops fixtures and testing.

  • Designs, develops and implements optimal quality practices and process for product developments.

  • Utilizes DMAIC process to improve, optimize and stabilize business processes and designs.

  • Develops and initiates quality standards for tests, inspections and evaluations.

  • Supports the investigation and resolution of customer questions and complaints.

  • Monitors quality indicators and provides early notification to management of quality related issues.

  • Performs machine capability studies and documents findings.

  • Analyzes data and initiate root cause solving techniques to resolve product and/or process related issues.

  • Coordinates and assists with corrective and preventative action solutions.

  • Serves the leader for larger Six Sigma projects including team management and communication to key stakeholders.

What you Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or additional statistical analysis experience in lieu of

  • Bachelor's degree in quality, engineering, or a related field

  • Demonstrated technical writing skills.

  • Ability to travel occasionally.

  • ASQ CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt or other comparable certification preferred.

Salary: The salary range for this potion is $52,000 - $81,000 plus the potential to earn an annual bonus.
