Job Description:

SUMMARY

Plans and conducts activities concerned with assuring the quality of our processes and products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supports the Quality Manager to maintain an effective Quality Management System, focused on continuous improvement of process performance and product quality.

  • Performs quality engineering reviews of industry and customer specifications in support of product quotations, customer orders, and customer and/or industry site and product accreditations.

  • Assists other departments and Process Owners in establishing systems to ensure SXP maintains compliance to its QMS and continues to drive improvement.

  • Supports Operations and QC Supervisor(s) to develop in-process and final inspection processes to detect, resolve, and eliminate nonconformities at the earliest stage possible.

  • Works with all areas of the plant in the effective writing and use of work instructions, documentation of processes, compliant records management, and in the training of employees.

  • Participates in internal and external audits, supports the Management Review process, and participates as a key team member throughout the corrective action process, with focus on driving the quality improvement goals of the organization.

  • Deploys and trains employees in effective problem-solving approaches to support company process and quality improvement goals.

  • Maintains key quality metrics and uses them in partnership with other SXP team members to identify improvement opportunities. Participates as a key member of the improvement teams and assists with communicating opportunities, actions, plans and progress to the management team.

  • Trains employees on quality concepts and processes as required.

  • Key member of the SXP process and product risk assessment/ risk management teams.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Completes various other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a field related to Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Metallurgy Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering;

  • Four years' related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Computer literacy is a requirement.

  • Ability to interface with any person in the organization.

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical.

  • Reliable attendance and good communication skills are essential.

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

  • ASQ certifications are a plus.

General understanding of production operating systems, transaction processing systems, relational database architecture, wide and local area networks, communication protocols, real-time systems, mission-critical gaming systems, IT industry standards, as well as various types of computer terminal equipment.
