External Description: JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer provides quality planning, control and

improvement support for product development, manufacturing, purchasing and

customer complaints. Provides such

support to ensure Bennington quality meets and/or exceeds customer




  • Implement quality control systems for raw materials, purchased parts,

work-in-process, and finished goods

  • Assist in the development of processes and procedures to ensure

safety, quality, and productivity standards are met

  • Perform investigations of quality problems and recommend corrective

actions based on data

  • Compile and write training material and conduct or assist in team

member training sessions related to quality

  • Provide technical support for and continuous review of processes,

equipment and related operations

  • Confer with design staff concerning product design and tooling

  • Promote and utilize lean and quality tools

  • Develop and initiate standards, methods and documentation for

inspection, testing and evaluation

  • Tabulate data for raw materials, product/process quality and


  • Initiate corrective action requests and track until completion

  • Manage more than one project at a time

  • Lead and/or participate in various project teams


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred

  • Knowledgeable of lean tools and concepts

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a

fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office

  • Skilled with data collection and analysis

  • Excellent time management/organization skills and attention to detail

  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to successfully lead teams and manage multiple projects

  • Strong ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the

Job Description: This position will be responsible for developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures. This position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining SQAE efforts to support successful execution of L3Harris DES defense industry programs at multiple sites. * Coordinate with Engineering to create and institute Software Quality Engineering discipline/capability at L3Harris IEC and other DES sites as required. * Coordinate with Engineering to Develop and Implement Software Quality related processes, procedures, and performance metrics at the Company and Program level * Contributing member of an Integrated Program Team to champion processes adoption to ensure compliance to mandated requirements * Coordinate with Engineering to support SQA planning activities to ensure implementation of the systems and software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives * Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with Quality requirements, objectives and/or contracts * Coordinate with Engineering to develop, publish and implement, Software Quality Assurance Plans (SQAPs) or the SQA role and responsibilities in the Software Development Plan (SDP) and other test plans/procedures * Identify and develop quality improvement initiatives * Observe software inspection, audit testing, audit verification and conduct validation. Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards * Periodically audits software requirement/design/code/test artifacts, change specifications, and plans against contractual and or process requirements and documents audit reports to identify and verify corrective actions/non-conformance * Audits include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Audits verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability * Interface with personnel from individual programs and apply engineering and scientific principles to improve quality. * Observe/witness critical software testing/verification events (grooming tests, regression testing, acceptance testing, FQT/FAT) as required by programs and / or the SDP * Validates software problem (bug/defect) reports have been independently verified * Observe and validate master SCM software builds load and run on project-approved computer platforms or programmed on a project-approved system processor * Verify (examine, compare and confirm) master and copied software media product releases match prior to Data Control in-file receipt and user submittal * Attend technical peer reviews to ensure SW product development IAW project defined SW processes as required by programs and/or software development plans * Attend and support Software Configuration Control Boards (SCCBs) for release of SW products * Generate and distribute SQA audit reports, including software development process improvements and lessons learned information to engineering business units * Other duties as required by Quality Management Qualifications: Required Experience: * Minimum 6-9 years in Software Quality Assurance Engineering environment in a high-tech design, development, and/or manufacturing environment * C/C++/C#/VB.NET Software Development Life Cycle experience * Experience in military software product development and production required * Embedded/Windows/Client-Server/Relational Database software development expertise Required Skills: * Knowledge and experience with Quality System standards AS9100:2016 and AS9115A, and the Software Engineering Institute CMMI-DEV model V 1.3, with emphasis on the PPQA Process Area. * Strong communication skills, both written, oral, and presentation are required * Experience working with relevant stakeholder organizations such as program management, systems engineering, software engineering, configuration management, and others required * Excellent interpersonal and project teaming skills. * The ability to work independently and with little direction * Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, VISIO, and DOORS Other Requirements: * U.S. Citizenship * Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance, existing clearance preferred.
