Otter Products is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Fort Collins, CO!

The Quality Engineer will provide technical experience to sourcing and suppliers with respect to technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics and delivery. This role will also participate in planning, coordination and management of specific project deliverables attributable to production launch and ramp-up capacities. Strong collaboration with other quality engineers, Product Development Team and other departments to support the product development cycle will be an essential key to success. This position is a professional level role within the quality engineer job family.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Development and Testing teams to define and document product specifications and standards including drawing and design reviews (as necessary)

  • Partner with product development teams to ensure that PRDs and statement of work are clearly defined and address applicable quality attributes such as test procedures, qualification plans, and warranty return procedures.

  • Review product changes for accuracy and correct approvals.

  • Responsible for overall quality of assigned products.

  • Coordination of APQP activities relating to new product development programs including Process FMEA, Control Planning and the product & system validation plans and all fixturing required to support those plans.

  • Work within Supply Chain to assure suppliers and their processes are capable of producing components and assemblies that meet specified requirements.

  • Work through product deviations, FAIRs and other quality issues.

  • May define minimum quality requirements for new products.

  • Work in parallel with the product testing organization to evaluate products and assure compliance to the design specifications/intent, customer requirements, and any applicable industry standards or requirements.

  • Work with the Sr. Quality Engineers to develop sampling plans, when needed, by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.

  • Work with the Sr. Quality Engineers to document and audit processes and procedures to support the company Quality Management System.

  • Work within Supply Chain to assure suppliers and their processes are capable of producing components and assemblies that meet specified requirements.

  • Partner with Supply Chain for the on-boarding of suppliers as well as perform ongoing auditing and process improvements.

  • Ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented.

  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations.

  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.

  • Minimum three years of previous relevant manufacturing work experience required. Quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experience with supplier management preferred.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, or other ASQ certification(s) are preferred.

  • Continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment(Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.) preferred.

(remote options available) As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will be performing for functional testing via a server-based application User Interface. The right candidate will have a working knowledge of software engineering concepts such as software development standards, quality assurance standards, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), interpret requirements, develop test plans and test cases, and test software functionality. Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Ownership of all Quality Assurance Engineering duties for the projects UI and Server based application software testing. * Creating and maintaining both UI and Server based software test scripts. * Responsible for implementing and maintaining high-quality software testing/engineering framework for software development and quality assurance standards. * Interpretation of product requirements into a test plan and cooresponding test case development. * Testing of software functionality, product installation, performance, load and usability testing. * Being a highly effective Quality Assurance Engineer and an active part of the projects Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Requirements Required: * Proven experience in black box manual testing of web applications with UIs. * Proven experience with functional, system, regression, and integration testing. * Proven experience developing test cases from user stories. * Proven experience with test management tools. HPE ALM is preferred. * Experience with a variety of SDLC/EPLC methodologies required. * Experience with Agile methodologies. * Experience in white box testing of RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs, and/or web services. * Superior written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines and report status. * Ability to document QA procedures for the team. * Ability to validate the deployment of software releases. * Proven experience in test planning (including data planning), test scheduling, and test evaluation. * Management of defects within a corporate defect tracking system. Preferred: * Experience with automated testing tools. HPE UFT/QTP, HPE LoadRunner, SmartBear SoapUI are preferred. * Experience creating, maintaining and evaluating of software automation test scripts (including incorporation of dynamic test data). * Experience with SQL (or something to that effect). * Experience working with and deploying Java jar files. * Experience using Git Bash. * Section 508 Compliance testing experience a plus.
