Job Summary

Develops and implements quality assurance standards, processes and controls. Develops methods for inspection, testing, sampling, and training. Evaluates production capabilities and recommends improvements. Provides quality assurance support to ensure that the products produced are manufactured in accordance to the specifications and requirements as defined by the customer and/or company. Respond to Customer identified issues and assist in maintaining the Quality Management System.

Job Function and Responsibilities

  • Organizes and facilitates the Quality Improvement Team Meetings in their respective areas. Maintains action register and charts for the meetings.

  • Performs required audits by completing necessary inspection procedures (product operation, certification and test procedures), using the appropriate documentation, and attesting to the quality of the product prior to shipment.

  • Ensures and verifies accuracy and completeness of quality requirements, inspection sheets, engineering documents and sampling sheets used when inspecting parts or units.

  • Uses basic precision measuring tools, workmanship standards, visual inspection and referencing specifications and blueprints to identify discrepancies. May include calibration activities.

  • Document deficiencies identified that do not meet the specifications and requirements. Provide a means to track and address repetitive issues.

  • Troubleshoots daily issues and determines the root cause of the problem. Initiates proper procedures in order to resolve the problem. Involves the appropriate departments.

  • Assist Manufacturing and Design Engineering during pilot runs of prototype units to determine undocumented quality requirements and/or test procedures that should be added to the Quality Requirements.

  • Works with the Service Department to exchange quality information necessary to promote continuous improvement.

  • Communicate in the appropriate manner with the appropriate formats (i.e., documents, email, charts, etc.) as necessary to convey quality information to the required parties.

  • Participate and make recommendations for continuous improvement by submitting CR's.

  • Initiates deviations for individual parts, assemblies or machines when it is applicable.

  • Initiate by completing the information required on the appropriate form pertinent to the issue identified.

  • Initiate Corrective/Preventative Action notices as determined necessary to ensure quality processes and products.

  • Reviews the MCO database to ensure that products are in compliance.

  • Participates in meetings as required. Completes follow-up activities in a timely manner

  • Provides training to the appropriate people as required on product operation and/or important information that has been identified that requires a "need-to-know" status.

  • Assist and participate when required and approved by the Quality Manager.



  • Four-year college degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology or equivalent (experience in Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, or Design)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Three to five years' relevant experience in manufacturing and production processes

  • Prefer experience in the automotive or agricultural equipment manufacturing industries

  • Supervisory experience, skills and responsibility is preferred

To support assigned suppliers to meet and/or exceed AGCO quality performance standards and our customer's product quality expectations by investigating, analyzing and resolving supplier quality problems. To lead in all supplier qualification endeavors including on-site supplier quality audits and supplier technical reviews. To drive systematic APQP in NPI phase to meet and / or exceed Supplier PPAP "Right First Time" targets. Travel will be required up to 50% What Will You Do? Supplier Qualification, Approval and Maintenance (20%) * Lead on-site audits focusing on both quality systems and technical processes * Conduct thorough technical reviews at part level to access supplier's capability to make part * Drive post-audit corrective actions * Define PPAP requirements for all new and revised purchased parts * Proactively manage the on-time completion of all PPAPs NPI - Part development (40%) * Drive systematic APQP to meet project time-line and (AMPIP) PPAP requirements * Help supplier to exceed "Fit, Form, Function" as well as reliability requirements while working with AGCO purchasing, manufacturing and engineering teams * Understand and communicate DFM and DFA principles conducive to production efficiencies and continuous quality improvements with supplier deliverables Supplier Quality Management & Supplier Process improvement (30%) * Continuously monitor and improve supplier quality performance (NCR, PPM, RFT) * Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to avoid repeat failures * Drive "Zero" defect approach within supply base and strive to exceed "Zero PPM" quality level * Resolve day to day issues associated with supplier problems, including but not limited to quality of product, quantity, delivery schedules, etc. * Proactively recover costs incurred to AGCO caused by suppliers Supplier Warranty Reduction (10%) * Work with Technical service and supplier recovery team to gather, analyze and action all field issues related to assigned suppliers * Lead required problem-solving efforts to eliminate warranty failures Perform all other duties as necessary and instructed Travel up to 50% of the time. ESSENTIAL SKILLS Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering, Weld / Weld Automation Engineering or Industrial Engineering * 3+ years of Supplier Quality Engineering experience handling the following: * Welding and fabrication in a Mobile or Agricultural equipment manufacturing environment with Welded and Steel Fabrication processes and equipment such as: lasers, press brakes, roll forming, steel coil balancing / leveling, and punch presses. * Mastery over quality control & problem-solving techniques for welded and fabricated components, knowledge of key failure modes for welds and forming processes, problem diagnosis and resolution, standards and tolerances for each process * Developing new weld methods and have experience creating Weld Process Standards (WPS). * Experience with Non-destructive and destructive weld testing. * Experience working with customers, suppliers, leading supply chain quality improvement efforts * Experience driving cross-functional business processes Preferred Qualifications: * Certified Weld Engineer or Inspector (CWE / CWI) is highly desirable * Understand a variety of welded and fabricated applications with an emphasis in manufacturability. * Be able to ensure that an item created on the print can be manufactured. * Able to review potential improvements and perform weld inspections pertaining to weld testing and validation processes. * Advanced Oral/Written English communication skills * Experience with Linkages preferred (torque limiters, drivelines, and slip couplers) * Understanding of robotic welding applications. * Working knowledge of AWS D14.3 * International exposure and/or experience About Hesston: Only 35 minutes from Wichita, Hesston is a place where industry, recreation, and family's blossom, offering many amenities found in a larger city but in a small-town atmosphere.
