  • Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Quality System.

  • Maintain certification of Quality Management system to AISC, Caltrans, TXDot, and others to the required certification standards (similar to ISO 9001). Serve as the Management Representative.

  • Manage and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Develop quality dashboards and metrics required to ensure processes are followed at all levels of the organization.

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple levels within the organization, outside inspectors and other external personnel as required.

  • Administer all projects and documentation relative to assigned processes (i.e. operator instructions and process control plans).

  • Oversee failure analysis activities to address and resolve root cause of equipment failures.

  • Manage preventive & corrective actions (CAPA) to address issues documented per external customer complaints or significant internal non-conformances.

  • Actively coach the organization concerning quality, with tools and reports.

  • Assist with Continuous Improvement. Work closely with manufacturing engineer and other managers in developing, implementing and maintaining process improvements. Insure improvements are adequately documented and measured within the QMS.

  • Generate, interpret, analyze, and communicate results to management.

  • Evaluate welding process and welding performance


  • 3 years of progressive work experience performing professional level quality management duties; preferably in metal fabrication industry

  • Ability to interact with customers

  • Knowledge and experience in AISC Fabricator Certification, ISO 9001, or other quality standards and models

  • Strategic, methodical, logical, and detail oriented

  • Excellent verbal and written communicator

  • Advanced in data analytics and problem solving

  • Proficient interpretation skills for figures, statistics, regulations, and policies

  • Reviewing and formulating/revising operations policies and procedures; ability to exercise controls over the implementation of policies and procedures

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio

  • Pass pre-employment drug screen


  • Extensive knowledge of AWS D 1.1

  • Current CWI license or professional engineering license

  • Additional education, training and/or work experience in area of specialization inherent to the position

  • Knowledge and experience with AISC and/or CalTransKnowledge or familiarity in Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, CONTROL PLANS, 5-Why, 8D)

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt trained

VIEW JOBS 2/21/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-21T00:00 <strong>Position will require travel and work in the Midwest (e.g. Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska). </strong><br /> <br /> <strong><u>Primary Function:  </u></strong><br /> Implement company quality control plans for the heavy highway industry while maintaining a professional working relationship with the owner’s representatives in order to keep the project on schedule and produce a quality product.  The position will report to the Operations Manager. Some products tested by the QC Technician include but are not limited to: concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and soils.<br />  <br /> <strong><u>Typical Duties:</u></strong> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Acts as the company contact with the owner’s representative for QC matters.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Sample for and conduct quality control tests according to the contract documents and specifications.               </li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Completes all quality control documentation such as spreadsheet summaries and transmits the appropriate records daily. </li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Analyze and interpret results of QC testing & activities.  Provide recommendations to Operations and QC personnel on appropriate adjustments and/or changes in processes to maintain acceptance and efficiency.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Properly maintain the field laboratory and associated test equipment. Including the scheduling of field laboratory equipment calibrations, as needed.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Pursue involvement with the company sponsored technical training program and continue your individual educational efforts associated with quality control. </li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Provide support in other assignments as scheduled by company managers.</li> </ul>  <br /> <strong><u>Preferred Experience: </u></strong> <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Prior experience testing on civil engineering projects or education in the heavy highway industry.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;" style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Material testing certifications such as ASHTO and ACI.</li> </ul> <div style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Koss Construction Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace.
