Moog is looking for a Quality Engineer to plan, implement, and administer cost effective Quality Programs. You will ensure that a system is in place which will meet or exceed contractual quality requirements and provide the required level of protection to Moog and its Customers. As a Quality Engineering professional, you'll have the opportunity to have a measurable impact on the performance of our business by promoting the highest standards of quality. Reporting to a Quality Manager, you will have a 9/80 schedule option and work onsite daily in Torrance, CA.

As a Quality Engineer, you will:

  • Most importantly, you'll be relied upon to have integrity, and as someone who won't be afraid to stand up and say "STOP - we have a problem we that need to address right away."   • Play an important part on program teams in meeting contractual requirements and driving crucial quality related decisions for customers such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Airbus, and Sikorsky for military aircraft.

  • Be a Moog liaison and representative to support Government (DCMA) initiatives, audits and requirements.

  • Support production by conducting QE studies, recommending design changes and providing quality support to manufacturing personnel.

  • Activities will include failure analysis, root cause and corrective action analysis, risk mitigation, material review, customer & governmental interface, audit support configuration control, traceability and audit support.

  • Develop Quality plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing operations, assembly & test processes and final inspection.

  • Work directly with customers and suppliers to identify root cause and corrective action.

  • Improve cost for inspection and prevent cost due to failure through statistical analysis and problem solving.

To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet these minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • Minimum 3+ years of professional work experience in Engineering or Manufacturing, 2 or more of those years must be in Quality Engineering in manufacturing

This position requires access to United States export-controlled information.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • 3 or more years of Quality Engineering experience in the Aerospace industry

  • Experience and knowledge of AS9100 standards

  • Proficiency with statistical, spreadsheet, and database software packages

  • Experience supporting government and customer audits

  • Specialized technical knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydro-mechanical components, and manufacturing assembly, and functional test methods

  • ASQ certification is a plus

Salary range:

The base pay range for this opportunity is $90,000 - $115,000 per year. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
