Vapor Bus International is a division of Wabtec Corporation and is the principal door equipment supplier to the North American bus industry. A broad range of products is available for transit and commuter buses, intercity and tour coaches, and utility vehicles. Responsibilities

Assist with the day to day test engineering and Quality function. Have the ability to design and build test apparatus as well as perform a wide variety of test measurements, write procedures, work instructions, flow charts, Graphs and execute tests is required. Typical measurement competencies are:

  • Dimensional, using various metrology instruments

  • Force, using Load Cells or Force Gages

  • Electrical, using Meters or Oscilloscope

  • Strain, using Strain Gage technology

  • Time, using Oscilloscope

  • Vibration Response, using Accelerometers

  • Assist in Implementation of ISO 14000

  • Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering

The ideal candidate must be a hands-on type person with the ability to use various hand and power tools. Understanding of electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems is essential. Technical report writing using Word and Excel. This person should be a self-starter with the initiative to pursue project completion while also being flexible to juggle priorities. In this position, interaction with other departments within the organization as well as customers and suppliers is essential.

Qualifications

Experience:
0-1 year in technical or mechanical environment. Experience with mechanical components or automotive is preferred. Demonstrated team player with strong initiative to excel.

What You'll Get to Do: Responsible for system testing activities, including writing test plans, completing automated testing needs, working with Programmers to troubleshoot any testing issues and provide testing results documentation to the development team. Responsible for quality assurance of software. * This position works closely with the Project Manager, Business Analyst, Technical Project Manager and Technical Lead to proactively define testing strategies and test plans, execute test scripts and follow through on the prioritization and resolution of defects. * Work closely with the Project Manager/ Business Analyst, Technical Project Manager and Technical Lead to define test plans based on business analyst requirements and functional specifications. * Test plans will include unit, integration, regression, performance and other tests as required. * Determine test scripts based on anticipated user interaction and system requirements. * Determine scheduling of tests and defect resolution consistent with the overall project schedule. * Update and prioritize tests in coordination with the Project Manager based on changing business requirements, communicate clearly the manifestation of defects to developers in order to resolve them as quickly as possible. * Prioritize defects for resolution in coordination with the technical team. Test and verify defect repairs and follow-up using defect tracking tools or any other methodology implemented by the client. The software that will be tested is a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) product that is used to support electronics manufacturing environments. What You'll Bring: Must have BS in Computer Science. Currently pursuing a Master's degree in computer engineer, MBA in Operations or Quality Management field, Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook Strong attention to detail, Strong in Computer Architecture and Programming concepts Task-oriented, Self-starter, Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills, Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Strong written and verbal skills and ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences * Strong partnering skills and ability to work within a collaborative team environment * Hands on experience with operating systems like CentOS and Windows. Proficient in programming languages like Java, C, C++ and C# * Proficient in Database concepts. * Passion towards customer support and enhancing customer experience. * A sense of ownership and responsibility for delivery is valued the most.
