OverviewThe Quality Technician team is responsible for supporting the manufacturing function with QA activities to ensure nonconforming products are not produced and shipped to customers. A critical function to provide inspection support as well as process improvements to sustain and improve product quality. Responsibilities

  • Provide audits and inspections on product quality according to Zebra's quality assurance processes.

  • Conduct nonconforming materials investigation and report to Zebra's authorized vendors as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Supervisors to implement corrective actions.

  • Engages management as required for assistance in addressing new or complex issues.

  • Support new product quality plan implementations.

  • Ability to understand specific technical requirements,

  • delivering output following broad framework.

  • Support ISO 9001 QMS.

  • Other research or related activities as deemed necessary.


  • High School or equivalent

Work Experiance:

  • 2+ years

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong process adherence.

  • Fluent level of English (written and verbal).

  • Beginner level skills in Microsoft business applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to work in fast paced, multi-task environment.

  • Solid professional work behaviors (attendance,teamwork, time management).

  • Self directed with ability to be efficient with minimal supervision.

  • Intermediate problem solving skills.

  • Prior working experience in manufacturing environment(preferred Print/Label Industry) is a plus.

Since 1915, Yaskawa Electric has served the world needs for products to improve global productivity through Automation. * Yaskawa is currently seeking a Quality Control CMM Programmer B for our Buffalo Grove, IL facility. In this role you will establish quality sample plans (QSP) for materials including proper measurement process and tools. As well as determining CMM program requirements based on design and engineering requirements sucha as Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: * Set up and operate CMM tool using text and graphic information supplied from a design document or CAD program. Load, check and execute CMM programs to very precise tolerances. * Lead inspection and segregation of component or finished goods inventory as required. * Performs duties related to Quality inspection process. * Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods to ensure quality and adherence to specifications. * Test and inspect product and components using test and measuring equipment prior to the assembly process. * Maintain test/inspection equipment and tooling. * Assist in providing Quality Assurance support to Production, Supply Chain Management, and other departments as needed. * Administer the Preventive Maintenance and Calibration systems. Schedule outside calibrations for BG as necessary. Identify equipment found to be out of calibration and take necessary action to resolve those situations. * Procure and control agency standards (e.g. ANSI, ASTM, NEMA, UL, JIS, ISO…). Participate in ISO and customer audits. QUALIFICATIONS: * Accreditation from technical school or applicable skilled trade. * 2-4 years experience as CMM programmer (or equivalent work experience) * Competency in metrology practices and techniques gained from education/certification and practical experience. Ability to decide measurement techniques and parameters based on engineering specification requirements. * In depth knowledge of inspection/testing tools such as calipers, dial indicators, height gages, etc. including proficiency with programming coordinate-measuring machine (CMM). * Good process improvement and efficient multi-tasking abilities. Good organizational and analytical skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. * General knowledge of production control systems (i.e. bill of materials, routings, MRP…). * Good knowledge of mechanical design; ability to create blueprints and drawings. * Exposure to manufacturing processes for sheet metal, machined parts, and plastics. * Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) concepts * Ability to properly use inspection tools and equipment * Good skill with standard PC software (i.e. spreadsheets, word processing, flow charts, etc.) Exposure to CAD (2D & 3D) software (i.e., Pro-E, SolidWorks, AutoCAD). * Good communication and interpersonal skills.
