Your responsibilitiesthyssenkrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking an experienced Quailty Engineer II in Middleton, TN. This role provides systemic and analytical support to improve the quality performance of thyssenkrupp products. Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards

  • Develop and visually analyze test procedures through handling and operating test equipment

  • Work with the Purchasing Department and Supplier Quality Engineer on qualifications of new suppliers and supplier quality improvement

  • Plan and conduct tests and experiments to improve products and processes

  • Provide statistical analysis on the performance of new and existing designs and processes

  • Perform root cause analysis on field and factory failures

  • Monitor failure trends on in-house and field failures which involve working in plant and at field job sites

  • Work with suppliers in solving problems

  • Work with plant engineering personnel to develop process control procedures

  • Support the APQP process

  • Audit supplier products, manufacturing processes, and quality systems and recommend improvements

  • Support external audits conducted by various certifying bodies ISO, ETL, UL etc

  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

Your profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science or in a relevant field of study with equivalent experience is required

  • ASQ, CQE or equivalent certifications are required

  • One to eight years' quality engineering experience is required

  • Must have a working knowledge and experience in ISO process

  • Must possess excellent customer service skills

  • Must possess strong decision making abilities

  • Must work well with others with cross functional team members at all levels

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written to all levels within the company

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Must be able to closely follow instructions and pre-established procedures/SOP to perform the functions of the job

  • Must understand data analysis applications

  • Requires less than 10% travel

Responsible for directing and administering the quality program at the manufacturing plant level to ensure company standards and specifications related to product quality and reliability are met through supplier certification and plant process controls.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Supervises, trains, coaches, evaluates and counsels Quality Engineers and Technicians. * Develop, maintain and improve a quality system that yields the performance metric goals on the strategic plan. * Develops and maintains a quality plan for new product introduction in support of the new products launch process. * Maintains ISO compliance. * Leads plant initiative in support of the overall strategic plan. * Consults with sub-plants, suppliers, customers, Quality Engineers and Product Engineers via oral and written communications to determine root cause of component and product failures. * Serves on plant management team to evaluate and direct resources toward plant product in-process failure resolution. * Develops, administers and insures adherence to departmental budget. * Set goals to develop employees * Provides Engineering and Technical Operations with failure data and component history. * Collaborates with Product Assurance in clarifying failure definitions * Reports to the Director of Quality. Your profileJob Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or similar. 5 – 10 years experience managing a structured Quality manufacturing systems * Must have knowledge of the AIAG APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA process, 8D or other structured problem solving methodology * COPQ analysis and ISO 9000 experience (TS16949 experience a plus).
