Job Description:

  • This position is responsible for Coordinating PPAPs to Client to ensure documentation is received from vendors, processed through manufacturing plant and submitted to OEM (Client) via SQMS.

  • This is a regional position while working with Plant quality Engineers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Submit and obtain approvals for all Client related parts for Client's AI Cottondale components and assemblies for the purpose to obtain a green PPAP status.

  • Facilitate/participate in the regular pending PPAP gap meetings with Client

  • Ensure preparation and on-time delivery of new product Launch related Customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages not included in the official program designation as launch. i.e. 205 Cockpit Assembly MY 2019

  • Ensure IMDS compliance, where applicable.

  • Assist/support Supplier Quality Engineer, as needed, to obtain required documentation from vendors for submissions.

  • Document and train Plant Quality Engineers to perform activities long term to maintain a green PPAP at all levels.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Customer Specific Requirements (SQMS)

  • Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS): Understand, apply and meet all function-related EHS requirements.

  • Product Safety: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.

  • Compliance: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Compliance requirements

  • Information Security: Understand, apply and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or Science related field with 5-7 years of related work experience.

  • American Society for Quality certification, such as current CQE status, is highly desirable.

Work Experience

  • Experience in Advanced Quality Planning including strong proficiency with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan, FMEAs, PPAPs, MSA and Statistical Process Control (SPC) standards.

  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers, particularly automotive related.

Qualifications include:

  • Proficient in use of a computer and common office software (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work in a self-directed environment.

  • Good mechanical/technical skills and ability to read engineering drawings are desirable.

Please note that candidates who do not have experience with SQMS, the Client supplier quality management system, will not be considered for role.

Uniform & Appearance: * Employees should be clean at all times. * Hair must always be neatly groomed, clean and regularly washed. Hair must not be dyed unnatural colors. Hair styles that regularly get into the eyes should be avoided. Men may wear beards and mustaches if they are clean and well groomed. * Be discreet and understated in the application of perfumes and makeup. * Fingernails must be neatly trimmed and clean. May use clear nail polish only. * Uniform should be clean, complete and without wrinkles, tears or cuts. * Company issued shirt, pants and jacket. * Brown or black slip resistant safety shoes. * Sewn on company brand name tag. * "Home of the Quality PM" logo or all black ball caps with hard shell inserts. * Approved safety glasses/goggles. Inspects fluid level of steering gear, power steering reservoir, transmission, differential, rear axle housings, and shackles. * Checks air pressure of tires. * Drains oil from crankcase and refills crankcase with required amount of oil. * Sprays leaf springs with lubricant, using spray gun. Adds water to radiator and battery. Replaces oil and air filters. * Completes repairs within their capabilities and as written. * Efficiently uses all shop equipment. * Provides own hand tools. * Follow Lockout/Tagout on repairs/inspections performed in and outside of the service bays to ensure vehicles tags are used to prevent the unauthorized starting of a vehicle. * Cleans all areas of the Truck Service Bays as directed. Performance Measurement: Progress will be measured through regular employee evaluations. The evaluation process includes being evaluated against TA shared objectives and other objectives agreed upon with your supervisor. Following is an overview of the TA shared objectives.
