The Quality Engineer will execute a variety of quality assurance tasks consistent with the focus factory and corporate quality objectives and metrics. Tasks include supplier corrective actions, development and implementation of shop floor quality procedures, support of advanced product planning (FMEAs, control plans, product / process capability studies), and audits of the system for compliance. The Quality Engineer is tasked with identifying quality issues and taking an active role in their resolution, insuring product quality that meets or exceeds customer requirements. A successful Quality Engineer is self-motivated and a natural trouble-shooter who can react quickly under pressure and prioritize and manage several tasks concurrently

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • College Degree in Industrial Operations, Mechanical Engineering, or Quality Assurance or equivalent education required. (Six Sigma Certification a plus)

  • Fully knowledgeable in geometric tolerancing/design and the use of standard inspection metrology equipment.

  • Effective trouble shooting, problem solving and organizational skills. Able to handle frequent interruptions, meet tight deadlines, work staggered shifts to cover for other supervisor absences, and handle conflict in an effective manner.

  • Willing and able to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationally.

This is a key technical position, affecting part quality for both installed base and NPI parts. Essential Responsibilities: Improve supplier quality performance for assigned suppliers via Quality Plan implementation. Approve supplier selection through robust qualification processes. Assure supplier compliance to GEHC QMS and regulatory requirements through supplier monitoring process. Develop positive relationships and work closely with Global Sourcing Leaders and Modality Sourcing Leaders to manage and implement supplier/engineering changes, New Product Introductions, and transfers. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical discipline (or non-technical degree with 5 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering or quality assurance experience, or an Associate’s Degree with 15 years of manufacturing, engineering, or quality assurance experience). Proficiency with Microsoft Excel spreadsheet development and analysis. Effective problem solving, root-cause analytical skills to lead and influence others to drive change (cross-functionally and globally).
