Sr. Quality Engineer: Aerospace: Los Angeles/Inland Empire/Orange County

Provides quality engineering direction to the factory operators and inspectors. This includes, but is not limited to:

Requirements interpretation. Ensure operators and inspectors have the correct understanding of engineering drawing implementation through manufacturing planning instructions. Planning review and approval.

Independently reviews manufacturing planning to ensure appropriate design engineering requirements implementation, material traceability maintenance, quality record maintenance and operator and inspector sign-offs. Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Leads effort to quantify and reduce risk using this quality tool and is considered the process expert. Process Mistake Proofing/Improvement.

Actively Participates in improvement teams to reduce risk through the application of mistake proofing principles. Inspect method development and implementation. Develops, implements and monitors new or existing inspection methods to ensure products meet stated engineering requirements.

Program and campus procedural compliance. Ensures compliance to all quality system requirements through a thorough knowledge of documented requirements.

Process auditing. Independently conducts process audits to ensure processes are following manufacturing planning, program requirements and enterprise level command media.

Actively participates in the Material Review Board, including: Segregates and controls nonconforming hardware to preclude inadvertent processing; Dispositions nonconforming hardware; Prepares and conducts board meetings; Implements disposition decisions.

Drives Corrective and Preventive Action to ensure continual improvement, including investigating and determining root causes of problems and developing and implementing corrective and preventative actions. Manages other projects as assigned. Provides imaginative, thorough and practical solutions to a wide range of technical problems through the application of quality engineering disciplines and tools.


Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline or physical science and at least 2 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Requires technical knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes as well as technical knowledge of quality engineering tools and quality systems; Prefer experience in aerospace industry. ASQ certifications are a plus. Must be a self-starter, be willing to learn, communicate well and have an excellent work ethic and interpersonal skills.

As a member of the QA team, you will help create and maintain great experiences for millions of Snapchatters around the world. We're looking for someone who is a self starter and can work to help define test procedures and automation strategies. Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters, you'll collaborate with collaborate closely with developers, designers, customer support, and engineering leadership. What you'll do: * Drive QA for feature and product teams * Test and report app performance, usability, and hardware/software compatibility * Participate in release processes for the entire company * Drive bug prioritization and work cross-functionally with engineering/design * Write and maintain automated test procedures using our in-house automation framework * Drive test planning efforts, and participate in spec and design review, providing insights based on product knowledge and end user interaction * Work closely with Customer Operations and other internal teams to triage incidents and drive resolution when necessary * Provide technical support to internal team members * Host and manage internal company test sessions and dogfooding Minimum qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in computer science or any related technical field * Experience with agile test tools and methodologies * Experience in managing releases Preferred qualifications: * Passion for mobile, especially applications on phones and tablets * Experience working in a distributed product-team environment * A good understanding of software product life cycles * Ability to isolate defects effectively, as well as provide specific conditions for reproducibility * Someone who can work with stakeholders to develop appropriate testing methodologies * Hands-on experience testing applications for a variety of smartphones and tablets * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * A keen attention to detail * Someone who can handle flexible work-hours: full-time, weekends, and late nights as needed * Knowledge of photo/video technologies in both objective C and Java * Native automation experience with iOS and Android Platforms * Experience with Selenium WebDriver * Experience testing iPhone applications, Android applications and web interfaces Snapchat Los Angeles CA
