Responsibilities
This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and is responsible for actively supporting the initiatives of the Technical Department. Position will work closely with Operations, Engineering, and other plant functionalities to implement standards, support documentation management system, and participate in efforts to resolve customer complaints and achieve permanent corrective action. This person must demonstrate broad ability to lead cooperative groups that are often cross-functional. Must be able to communicate effectively to individuals at all levels of the organization. Candidates must possess solid leadership and organizational qualities, strong technical background with an imaginative thought process, and troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
Professional Experience
Support all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS)
Maintain documentation in compliance with the QMS
Support capability studies to establish product/process tolerances and standards.
Lead problem solving (8D) root cause analysis for development of customer complaint and internal plant reject permanent corrective actions
Lead use of Quality tools for plant performance improvement (PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and Visual Standards)
Support the Plant's ongoing process audit system
Maintain records in accordance with the QMS
Responsible for reporting and maintaining all Quality metrics (Reject, Repair, Customer Complaints, etc.)
Support initial response and problem solving for customer complaints
Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
Participate in the maintenance and communication of a quality plan to ensure the company's Quality Systems and Policies are in compliance with quality system requirements.
Work with Supply Chain staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers and ensure systems are in place to control and provide feedback on performance.
Maintain the Company's quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
Defining quality procedures in conjunction with Operations staff.
Participate in Kaizen events and Lean initiatives asscoicated with Plant goals
Drive use of the Crane Business System (CBS) for Quality improvement
Demonstrate ability to problem solve using CBS tools
Support ongoing development of Quality systems to drive Quality improvement
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in an applied science or engineering field
2-4 years prior experience in Quality/Technical/Engineering with direct Plant responsibilities
Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work with customers to resolve complaints
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and drive projects to completion
Experience with problem solving tools (8D, MSA, Kaizen, 5 WHY, etc) preferred
Experience with PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, and Control Plans preferred
Experience with Six Sigma tools (Green belt or Black belt) preferred
Experience with Fiberglass-reinforced plastic (frp) preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Demonstrated use and proficiency in statistical techniques
Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development
