Location: Greenville, SC

Job Description:
Performs quality engineering and testing work for our Connectors product line. Works with Design Engineering group, Sales Engineers, Operations, and international manufacturing teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products that meet customer's standards.Reports To: Supplier Quality ManagerDuties and

  • Establishes and conducts test, analyzes and interprets test results and prepares reports summarizing methods employed and results obtained in the solution of the assigned project.

  • Plan details of assigned project, including methods and scope of work under the functional guidance of senior personnel where some detailed outline of procedures and desired results are given.

  • Coordinates design and development of projects with related activities to ensure compatibility of design and adherence to specifications.

  • Prepares materials for effective, efficient testing

  • Serves as liaison with equipment manufacturers for process and machinery improvements

  • Requires the limited use and/or application of basic engineering or scientific principles, theories and concepts to develop solutions to problems of limited scope.

  • Prepares training manuals, operating procedures and instructions for manufacturing processes

  • Identifies production process problems, conducts tests and experiments to analyze problems; solves problems in conjunction with other departments

  • Provides technical support to technicians and production personnel in response to production issues or during preventative maintenance utilizing excellent interpersonal skills

  • Creates and manages project plans for continuous improvement initiatives, delivering on results as committed

  • Analyzes manufacturing process capabilities of new products to identify potential production processing

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical or Electrical strongly preferred)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Continuous Improvement / Problem Solving

  • Deployment and Monitoring of Key Indicators

  • Formalization and Transmission of Knowledge and Skills

  • Project Management and Innovation

The plant offers electrocoat (e-coat) services and is regarded as an industry leader in the application of Class A exterior coatings on aluminum and galvanized substrates for domestic and overseas markets. The facility also offers hem-sealing and service packaging. The Greenville facility offers Class A automotive exterior (and interior) body panel coatings via a state-of-the-art in-line and enclosed e-coat application system that minimizes contamination and handling concerns The responsibilities for the Quality Engineer include: * Facilitates and completes activities related to quality controls initiatives in compliance with customer standards, industry standards, and COS policies and procedures. * Meets department and plant goals to achieve and maintain quality standards and certification through completion of technical responsibilities such as PPAP submissions, part certifications, Cpk/Ppk analysis, PFMEA's, Control Plans, and related quality activities. * Ensures timely and accurate completion of documentation. * Provides relevant communication with associates and managers with respect to quality information and projects. * Establishes, maintains and improves relationships with customers and vendors to ensure communication, production, cost containment, compliance and quality needs are being met. * Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement and quality through active participation as a member of the PPG Salary Team. #LI-ES1 * Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university * 1 to 3 years of Quality experience within the automotive industry required * Experience in the coatings industry preferred * Must possess attention to detail skills * ISO Auditor or IATF Standard Certifications preferred * Green Belt or Black Belt certification from accredited organization a plus PPG: We protect and beautify the world.
