The FCA Quality organization is currently seeking a solutions-oriented Quality Data Analyst to join the Quality team at the Detroit 2 Assembly Plant in Detroit, MI. The Quality Data Analyst is responsible for taking the lead role in identifying warranty issues from the field and clearly defining the problem or issue. The Quality Analyst will research warranty data for issue identification, and document and communicate appropriate communications to the responsible support teams. They will work with Engineering and assembly plant personnel to track issue resolution and assure effective containment and permanent corrective actions are established. The candidate must be a high energy, hands-on individual, a self-confident leader who effectively sells ideas and solutions to others.

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze warranty claim data

  • Perform analysis of warranty data to identify trends, emerging issues, and focus areas

  • Fast Track parts to appropriate locations to provide samples and/or examples of the condition under investigation in order to demonstrate the issue

  • Research issues using available tools

  • Create appropriate documentation (Transmittals/GIMs) that very clearly describe the vehicle issue that the customer experiences

  • Provide additional information to the individuals assigned to understand and resolve the issue

  • Maintain Transmittal updates based on input from the Engineers assigned to issue resolution

  • Assure all criteria are met for Transmittal closure

  • Chart data as required to define an issue to demonstrate progress of the team

  • Participate in manufacturing quality Product Related Issue calls (PRI) as required to provide necessary information and follow up as required

  • Lead processes consistent with issue resolution management and closure

  • Achieve KPI's established

  • Communicate with dealers to better understand vehicle issues and dealer repair actions

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment

  • Represent the "Voice of the Customer" to the platform teams

  • Interface with other areas of Quality as well as Engineering through the performance of ad-hoc analysis

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, mathematics, or the physical sciences OR a technical Bachelor's degree with related experience may be considered

  • Basic understanding of vehicle systems and components and their functions

  • Computing skills covering standard office software

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with a variety of people at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to collect and synthesize data into meaningful information and communicate clearly to all levels of the organization

  • Self-directed, team oriented with demonstrated planning/problem solving skills

  • Experience and working knowledge of computer systems and software required

The Data Strategy & Solutions (DSS) group is an internal consulting team within the CDAO that works with top leaders throughout the business to identify business opportunities, frame the challenge within an analytical construct, coordinate the alignment of data assets, apply advanced (predictive and prescriptive) analytics, and implement solutions. The DSS helps business partners adopt self-service analytical tools and ensure they reach a level of comfort and maturity in order to compress the amount of time spent socializing and gaining buy-in. Most analytical programs fail to cross "the last yard," that is bringing programs to fruition and embedding them in the operations. The Analyst will work closely with business operations teams and IT to ensure insights get adopted, plugged into operational systems, and benefits are realized by the Chief Financial Officer. The Role Reporting to the Data Strategy & Solutions Engagement Leader, the Data Analyst will support various analytics projects across the team and ensure successful delivery to our business partners. The analyst must support business partners through the analytical process, manage data engineers and scientists, implement recommendations, and monitor results until they are finalized. As such, they must have both strong quantitative skills, as well as strong business acumen and communications. The Data Analyst will support the Engagement Leader as well as the 3 Managers, working as a team to support the team' clients. This individual must be proficient in IT terminology and advances in technology, but simultaneously know the business language and dynamics to address business challenges. They must also know how to communicate results in a financially compelling way to realize the value created. They must also be comfortable with most major analytical techniques, and have sufficient knowledge to explain them to business laypersons.
