The preferred candidate will have at least five years of relevant healthcare experience and experience with pediatric and/or neonatal intensive care. In addition, the preferred candidate will have formal quality improvement training and/or patient safety training and the ability to analyze quality data using SPC charts or a willingness to learn. Experience with QI presentations and publications is preferred, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QI Macros or equivalent.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field. A master's degree in a health or business field is desirable.
License/Certifications: Requires a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Professional in the State of Maine or current certification as a surgical technologist if accompanied by master's level preparation in a health or business field.
Experience: Experience with performance improvement required. Strong clinical background. Knowledge of professional clinical principles, clinical processes, and the appropriateness of clinical interventions, as well as specific program or unit knowledge at a level normally acquired through at least five years of progressive experience. Clinical experience in operative or perioperative services is desirable.
Knowledge of data collection, management and presentation. Ability to understand and utilize data to improve performance. Ability to lead change management, quality or process improvement activities.
Requires a high level of critical thinking and analytical skills.
Requires a high level of organization skills, effective time management and delegation strategies that include the ability to rapidly prioritize and adjust workflow according to changing program/unit needs.
