SUMMARY
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing quality control tests to evaluate products and processes for compliance with appropriate specifications and requirements. Make recommendations to improve processes and investigate using root cause analysis to determine most appropriate corrective actions. Works constructively across organizational boundaries to resolve production and process barriers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule and conduct routine quality control inspections. Analyze quality, gather data and make corrective action recommendations.
Maintain a quality focus and be directly involved in customer complaints: establish processes so customer and/or internal complaints are minimized.
Complete documentation and reporting of identified quality issues.
Assist the Director of Quality in leading quality improvements and implement permanent solutions.
Support plant employees in recognizing and troubleshooting quality.
Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPPA.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma
1-3 years of inspection and/or production experience
Paper and Packaging Engineering, or related field and experience, preferred
Qualified candidates will exhibit a positive and proactive attitude with high initiative and the ability to perform with minimal supervision.
Able and willing to spend equal time in the plant with machine operators, maintenance personnel, and vendors; able to communicate production and process effectively.
Able to travel to other sites and regions as needed.
Good technical aptitude and analytical skills.
Detail and process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to support a continuous improvement environment as well as support change management initiatives.
Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to:

The employee is regularly required to stand for a prolonged period as well as bending and stooping regularly
The job duties will require the employee to utilize repetitive fine manipulation with hands

The employee is required to reach with hands and arms
The employee must regularly push/pull/lift 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally more with assistance
