Job Description: Quality Control Technician

As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of door units manufactured at our South Caolina Distribution Center. A strong understanding of building materials and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in these positions. We are looking for candidates who are highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high-quality standards in a dynamic, high-volume manufacturing environment.

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a QC Technician for our Sandy Run Location. QC Technicians play a crucial role in maintaining Stier standards by ensuring that the finished products leaving the door shop meet order specifications. We are looking for detail-oriented candidates with excellent communication skills and strong problem-solving capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute meticulous quality checks on door units to ensure adherence to specified standards.

  • Identify and document any issues related to door production, prioritizing safety, productivity, and quality.

  • Utilize knowledge of building materials to assess and enhance the quality of doors.

  • Collaborate with the production team to address discrepancies and ensure a smooth production flow.

  • Perform visual inspections and implement QA procedures specifically tailored to door manufacturing.

  • Work collaboratively with the production team to resolve discrepancies and maintain efficient production processes.

  • Conduct thorough quality checks on door units within the exterior and interior lines.

  • Identify and document any discrepancies in the manufacturing process for both exterior and interior doors.

  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure consistent quality across all product lines.

  • Utilize expertise in building materials to enhance the quality of both exterior and interior doors.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all doors leaving the shop match order specifications.

  • Possess basic computer skills for order verification and tracking.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve the production process.

  • Maintain efficient execution of responsibility.

  • Verify door meets quality standards by performing inspection when first coming down the line.

  • Move carts to staging areas and pull new carts for lines to load.

  • Manage excess door inventory/usage.

  • Inspect raw materials and finished products per specifications against work orders.

  • Conduct continuous inspections and quickly analyze and fix any errors.

  • Familiarize yourself with various door materials and trims used in the manufacturing process.

  • Conduct miscellaneous training to resolve any quality concerns.

  • Once mistakes are identified, ensure they are corrected and communicate any changes needed.

  • Embrace training to excel in this entry-level position.

Qualifications:

  • Capability to repetitively lift 50-75 lbs.

  • Bonus points for familiarity with building, carpentry, or construction practices.

  • Strong time management and multitasking skills with an eye for detail.

  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening, background check, and health and physical evaluation.
