QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN:

Each day, Jushi team members continue to grow, cultivate, process and manufacture a comprehensive suite of cannabis brands under the names: The Bank, The Lab, Tasteology, Nira + Medicinals and Sèche, which are addressing a wide variety of consumer and patient needs across multiple states.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Quality Control Technician role assists in the completion of Microbial and Chemical tests to validate compliance and safety for Jushi products. The QC Technician will support (but not limited to) in-process testing, R&D and quality event investigations.

  • Weigh and prepare solutions to sustain analytical testing

  • Support documentation and data entry for cannabinoid potency using HPLC

  • Data entry of COAs to site 3rd party testing laboratories management

  • Environmental Sampling (examples: Rodac surface, Settles plates, ATP, and Cultivation ID tests)

  • Order Chemical and Microbial Supplies

  • Microbial analysis via PCR

  • Read and analyze media plates

  • Monitor moisture content and water activity

  • Dispose of Chemical Waste

  • Troubleshoot Analytical Equipment

  • Support solutions and gathering of materials for R&D tests

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • BS/BA in chemistry, biochemistry or biology (or equivalent)

  • Exposure and relative work experience in related field focusing on chemical processing and equipment use. (HPLC/GC primarily)

  • Ability to communicate to employees in organization

  • Previous experience in medical cannabis industry

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks

  • Frequently sitting

  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including periodic weekends

  • Occasionally Twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl

  • Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication may be required. Sitting or standing for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.

  • Some heavy lifting may be required. Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally may be required.

  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment.

  • Must be comfortable operating and troubleshooting equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The job is performed indoors and outdoors (when applicable). Must be able to work in hot, humid environments for extended periods of time with exposure to dust, allergens, and water. Appropriate PPE will be provided. Activities include extended periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, stooping and bending. Twisting in tight areas may also be required at times.
