We are hiring a Quality Control Technician in the Georgetown, TX area. Qualified applicants should have, or be able to quickly gain competence with crushing and screening operations, and be capable of diagnosing quality related output issues.


The Quality Control Technician will sample and test processed aggregates for gradation, abrasion, plasticity, shrinkage, and other quality related characteristics. Previous experience, and Texas DOT certification is preferred, but not required. The position requires flexible scheduling, including overtime and occasional weekend work.


  • Collect material samples

  • Split samples

  • Weigh samples/materials

  • Heat and dry samples

  • Wash samples/materials

  • Make plugs


  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Must be a self-starters and able to work without constant supervision

  • Ability to simultaneously work well with others

  • Good math and computer skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word desired

  • Mechanical understanding is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a technical or general supervisor, performs laboratory testing and related documentation functions accurately and in a timely manner to provide information for provision of patient care. Responsible for competently performing moderate and high complexity testing in the areas of Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis and Serology. Analyzes, reviews, and reports test results and quality control results and takes remedial action when indicated. Ensures specimen integrity by adhering to the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing. Adheres to departmental policies and procedures to include departmental programs, quality control, performance improvement, and safety. Performs all tasks in alignment with CAP standards. May supervise Lab Assistants in the absence of a supervisor. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess exception customer service and patient care skills. Must communicate effectively, both verbal and written. Must possess basic computer skills. Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA's and St. David's "Patient First" safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required:Associates degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; basic knowledge of computer skills. Preferred:Two years experience in acute care hospital setting. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Required:Registered as MLT by ASCP, NCA, AMT or equivalent. Evidence of a passing registry exam score must be presented within one year of hire or three successive offerings of the registry exam to remain employed as a medical laboratory technician. .
